I am building a food truck. I have an Asus RT-AC66U router. I hope to setup the router as a wifi client to connect to various possible wireless networks (home wifi, work wifi, tethered device, mobile hotspot, public wifi).

However I require a private network on board for POS, credit card processing, etc, I do not even really want to broadcast the SSID if possible.

I cannot seem to find a proper setup that will allow me to fulfill the above requirements, so I thank you in advance for any direction you can provide me!

Use one band as a client and the other as an AP.

aka, client mode.

While some dd-wrt routers are capable of client mode, fact is, you can make *any* router (even w/ stock firmware) a client mode router by patching a wireless ethernet bridge to its WAN.
