I'm sure someone will correct if I'm wrong but I remember reading something a long time ago that it can't be used with QoS. So you'll have to pick one or the other.

I've also heard about that, but I have QoS disabled. So there has to be another reason.

The Asus RT-AC87U 5GHz doesn't work in DD-WRT due to them being Quantenna hardware and no drivers that will work with current kernel, etc. This is a known issue that will never be fixed.
I know the Quantenna was and is problematic, but 5GHz was working in previous builds of March and April. I'm following the SVN quite a bit and didn't notice any related changes there.
So take it as a hint to others, nothing more and nothing less.
AFAIK, there is *NO* Quantenna drivers in DD-WRT, so I don't know *how* the 5GHz was ever working. And a lot of times, you will *NOT* see certain things in public SVN (driver_repository_changelogs). _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Yeah must be something else. If I disable QoS, FA remains enabled. According to the internets it's not compatible with "Port Forwarding, QoS, IP Traffic Monitor, and Parental Control."

The useless auto commit changelogs for the 'blob' should not be related to qtn.

I could've been mistaken with another firmware project here; if it's not working, re-open the ticket with syslogs or provide applicable information here. Just saying it doesn't work means zero.
Keep in mind, the RT-AC87U 5GHz webUI functionality doesn't work as most people would expect, and BrainSlayer in not so many words told me it won't be fixed. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Starting with r46604 the 5 GHz radio (wl1) has not worked on RT-AC87u A1. There is no visible SSID being broadcast and no connections from devices that worked on prior r46446. Even when the router has been reset to factory defaults there is no radio present (SSID broadcast).
Enclosed are log files which might point to the issue.

I have emailed BrainSlayer about this issue, I have not received a response yet. He will either reply to my email or respond in this thread, I do not know which. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

I know that BS was p*ssed about the qtn-driver and several things can't be set nor read. Thanks for the link on svn. I don't think BS will do anything.
Nothing in the syslog related to qtn/quantenna. Attached.

5GHz is not working. Parameters are WPA2 only, AC/N mixed, VHT80, upper/upper.
SSID is not seen by iPhone nor AVM 3000 (a repeater).
Also wireguard stopped working after ~20 minutes.
Flashed twice, also TRX-files verified (to exclude a bad flash).
Going back, can't use this build.
i'm sure wireguard is totally unrelated here. there is nothing i have changed on wireguard over a long time. i suspect that your peer has a problem
beside this. post logs next time (syslog, whatever). its hard to work with spare informations
update:
5 ghz wifi problem will be fixed with next build. discovered and fixed the problem already _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Sounds like a Mac to me.." - Louis Rossmann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_5YDRWqGE&t=60s

Great & thanks, BS (+KP)! I was reluctant to post LOGs due to low userbase and qtn radio used on very few devices (Netgear R7500, Linksys E8350, E8400, this AC87, some siblings and more rare devices). Also jrscs just confirmed.
wg was probably unrelated to the new build, but was working on previous build 5 minutes before. Will look at the LOGs next time. Promised.
