Hello,

Can someone suggest where to check latest 2021 DD-WRT supported routers list [Last one I checked is 2018]?

Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for reply, even this list is last updated on Dec 2019. https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices

I think a lot of the 2020/21 newly release device list are missing and in market it's hard to get a previous release version of the device.

TY

Please stop TL;DR'ing. Read all the links in the linked post. It is well known that the router database is not up to date, and I haven't compared the supported devices wiki with the current downloads available, but it may not be completely up-to-date. I don't know what your specific question is about, but obviously it is about currently unsupported devices. Device support requires hardware donation and / or support detection. This is nothing new. You want newer devices supported that are more readily available in market, then start doing the work.

The most recently added devices are:
Quote:
• Support added for Netgear R6800, R6850, R6260, R6350, R6220 and WNDR3700v5. • Support added for Netgear WAC124.

Sorry for late response, like I said previous version device are under shortage and offline market 2x/3x price specially Netgear/Linksys series [Due to covid-19 I guess] and latest version available mostly Wi-Fi 6 series and cheaper price. But the question is will it support DD-WRT in future as database is outdated [Point taken without device availability testing is not possible]. Here are the list of few devices.

D-Link Wi-Fi 6 DIR-1360 AC1300 128/256MB [$44] First preference.
D-Link Wi-Fi 6 DIR-X1560 AX1500 128/256MB [$68]
D-Link Wi-Fi 6 DIR-1760 AC1750 128/256MB
D-Link Wi-Fi 6 DIR-1960 AC1900 128/256MB [$62]
D-Link Wi-Fi 6 DIR-2660 AC2600 128/256MB [$90]
D-Link Wi-Fi 6 DIR-2680 AC2600 256/512MB [$100]
D-Link Wi-Fi 6 DIR-3060 AC3000 128/256MB [$125]

I've personally been curious if there is a way to use the DumaOS Firmware from netgear's XR1000 routers as a stepping stone to getting DDWRT firmware working in other wifi 6 routers from Netgear.

This is a Broadcom device. Broadcom Wi-Fi 6 support will NOT happen:

Sticky: AX Router support for BCM

You both need to do a little more reading as currently the only WIP on Wi-Fi 6 is an Atheros device.

Announcement: 802.11 AX Supported routers- W.I.P.

Refer to the hardware donation and support detection links above. I can inquire if MediaTek device support is planned, same for Lantiq.

Thanks for response. After going through forum I just come to know following two have similar specs [excluding ram]

https://dd-wrt.com/support/router-database/?model=DIR-878_A1 16MB/128MB, CPU1: MediaTek MT7621AT (880 MHz, 2 cores) /FCC ID: KA2IR878A1
https://dd-wrt.com/support/router-database/?model=DIR-882_A1 16MB/128MB, CPU1: MediaTek MT7621AT (880 MHz, 2 cores) /FCC ID: KA2IR882A1

So does it mean we can use anyone of this?

D-Link Wi-Fi 6 DIR-1360 AC1300 128/256MB, MediaTek MT7621AT (880 MHz, 2 cores) / FCC ID: KA2IR1360A1
D-Link Wi-Fi 6 DIR-1760 AC1750 128/256MB, MediaTek MT7621AT (880 MHz, 2 cores) / FCC ID: KA2IR1760A1
D-Link Wi-Fi 6 DIR-1960 AC1900 128/256MB, MediaTek MT7621AT (880 MHz, 2 cores) / FCC ID: KA2IR1960A1
D-Link Wi-Fi 6 DIR-2660 AC2600 128/256MB, MediaTek MT7621AT (880 MHz, 2 cores) / FCC ID: KA2IR2660A1
D-Link Wi-Fi 6 DIR-3060 AC3000 128/256MB, MediaTek MT7621AT (880 MHz, 2 cores) / FCC ID: KA2IR3060A1

I'm pretty sure there is specific code required to port those devices officially. I would not recommend trying to flash the DIR-878/882 images to any of them.

Well then maybe there is hope for the Qualcomm chipped Orbi ax6000. The SXK80 already uses openWRT

Which means absolutely nothing. Please again refer to the links for hardware donation and router support detection. Topic moved to Generic since this does fall into development for new devices. It would be awesome if people would just contribute the patches required to add new device support.
