Good evening,

i used my 1200v2 as a client bridge with dd-wrt44048 and experimented a little with newest firmware 46380.
The stability was really bad and so i tried to upgrade to an open-wrt 19.09.07 version via web-gui. The router rebooted to the "old" dd-wrt gui. So i upgraded again and the router reboots.
The gui wasn't reachable anymore. I figured out that i can reach the router via ssh. Username root, no password set. The SSH Interface is from openwrt OpenWrt SNAPSHOT, r16575-4dcdc8249c.

I copied the dd-wrt firmware 44048 to /tmp and used "write image.bin linux &" in ssh.
Got back this:
-ash: write: not found
cd
[1]+ Done(127) write image.bin linux

So the second row was shown after i entered "cd"
i rebooted but i i landed in the openwrt ssh interface.
I wrote the image to linux2 and rebooted but same problem.

What can i do next to get a firmware running with a gui?
And what is the best firmware as a client bridge?
When i use 44048 5ghz bridge is full speed (100mbit internet access, tested wired), but 2,4ghz does not use more than 144mbit and i get only 50mbit Internet speed.
At the moment i would say the stock FW_WRT1200ACV2_2.0.6.191786_prod.img, but this one is
quite old and the gui not quite useful.
on my WRT3200ACM the stock firmware works also best.

That was the reason why i wanted to try openwrt but i never tested it before.

Thanks for any information.

Enjoy serial recovery. You cannot flash OpenWRT from DD-WRT or vice-versa.

Seems to me OP is using DD-WRT commands in OpenWrt environment so likely do not need serial recovery.

Flash stock firmware, get back into the Linksys web interface then hardware reset or hold button 10 seconds.

Keep in mind if the other partition is still intact you can just skip all this and switch the boot partition instead.

Thanks for the Infos.
I don't have a clue of serial recovery.

@blkt: I tried to flash the Stockfirmware with the Programm tftp2 but i only get the message: Unable to get responses from the server.
I can ping 192.168.1.1 and get the ip 192.168.1.162 on my wired PC. I also tried a fixed IP 192.168.178.162 on my PC and tried to ping 192.168.178.1 but it was not reachable.

So i will try the way you linked to and will give a feedback.
Thanks

I Tried this:

root@OpenWrt:~# cd /tmp && sysupgrade -F -n -v firmware.img
Mon Apr 19 16:36:48 UTC 2021 upgrade: Image metadata not present
Image check failed but --force given - will update anyway!
Mon Apr 19 16:36:48 UTC 2021 upgrade: Commencing upgrade. Closing all shell sessions.

The router reboots imediatly and now the Internet LED blinks yellow.

Now i pulled the powercable for 5min and
TADA i can reach the stock gui.

Thanx a lot blkt

P.S. the Stockfirmwares work best for 1200v2 and 3200acm if you wanna use this routers as a WLAN Repeater. Everthing is working on full performance.
Really easy to configure and works it should.

But these firmwares are old and so i'm afraid of to less security. Is this correct or isn't this a problem?
