Dear all,

I have an issue on my TP-Link 1043 v.1.x with update from firmware 40559 to 44715.

Namely, the router uploads the firmware and starts to process it, but after the task is completed firmware version is stil 40559, but not 44715.

While for the Tp-Link 1043 v.2.x - everything works perfectly.

Does enyone had something similar and knows how to fix it?

Any help much appreciated!

You have to update from 40559 via CLI using PuTTY (telnet/ssh):
Code:
cd /tmp
wget http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2020/11-03-2020-r44715/tplink_tl-wr1043nd/tl-wr1043nd-webflash.bin
write tl-wr1043nd-webflash.bin linux &
reboot

40559 was still broken for webUI upgrades on Atheros, if memory serves.

You should consider updating to the current release:

https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2021/03-09-2021-r45955/tplink_tl-wr1043nd/

Either way, flash and report please:

New Build - 11/03/2020 - r44715

New Build - 03/09/2021 - r45955

Sorry, I tried everything and the response I get is "Image too big for partition linux" are there any other options?

Did you flash it straight to 40559 from factory? Because I checked 40559, 44715 and 45955 and all the images are the same size... so, something is awry here. I wouldn't think you'd have to downgrade to upgrade... or you may have to serial flash it.

Well, I don't recall all the history on firmware upgrade.
I believe I should use update through COM port (or serial). I'll have to dissasemble my router and etc, but that is ok.

Anyway, thank you for your help!

Thank everyone for materials.
Upon sucessfull compleation I'll write back. Otherwise I am keep trying)

I am using DD-WRT for more than 3 years and this is my first forum posting. It is very pleasant to have such brief responses. Even if I'll brick the router I'll continue to use DD-WRT Wink
