Why was this thread locked https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1230163#1230163

I wanted to respond to the second last comment which said that Broadcom devices are not supported, despite thst the FAQ has a whole section that describes Broadcom support https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices#Broadcom_and_ADM_FAQ

It doesn't make sense! Is Broadcom supported or not?

It was locked because all was said, in the last post this reference was posted:

Sticky: AX Router support for BCM

What do you not understand about Broadcom and AX support

Any updates on this question? Are there are any routers with modern HW and AX support that are supported by DD-WRT? I have a Netgear RAX200 but I am sick of its limited default firmware and would like to either install a third party FW or buy a new device.

RAX200 is Broadcom, so no. RAX120 is Atheros maybe in the future, maybe not.

Well, Unless something magical happens, the end of the road for BCM routers is 802.11 AC, No AX series routers will come...

AX will only come for qca chipset. broadcom doesn't provide an opensource sdk. All is full of binary blob. So, I wasn't able to get the kernel working yet since fundamental.

This means don't ask for AX support on broadcom. SORRY!

He's working on a RAX120...so keep an eye on Atheros...

I guess it wasn't painfully obvious as to why I locked the thread. And I wasn't going to have a thread about 802.11ax turn into a 200-page cesspool of garbage posts that would be of no value to the community. The wiki you linked doesn't apply to 802.11ax, whatsoever at present and likely should be updated to reflect the current status.

NOW, if you were wanting an AX device with a QCA chipset to be supported, like the RAX120, there's your answer as to what to buy in the future when support comes in DD-WRT. My apologies for being a little abrasive, but the usual chain of events I have seen in forum threads gets a little ridiculous and cumbersome.

I have recently seen 3 threads removed not closed.
Don't know why.

Perhaps you need to read the forum rules and guidelines until you understand them. They were probably redundant or ridiculously rudimentary and covered already ad nauseum. Not knowing what posts you're referring to off the top of my head, it would seem you just decided to hijack this thread with a totally unrelated post.
