some time in the next 18 months looking to change router specifically to run dd-wrt.

looking for a gaming router specs, good wifi with good range, fully compatible with dd-wrt

budget of $340 / €300 / £250 approx

asus's seem to look good?

are you able to buy dd-wrt routers?

A fully recommended router would be R7800, R9000, R7500v2 or EA8500 but all this worry about security.

You do not mention router model, so I am assuming R8500 which has a history of hardware design issues.

Hardware features I am assuming Wi-Fi? Generally avoid Broadcom hardware except older R7000, R6400.

Broadcom lacks open source driver support, so this is why recommended routers are Qualcomm Atheros.

Please stop posting until you start reading the forum and wiki in depth and doing some research. Everything you have asked so far has been discussed, some things in quite some depth. Start with the forum rules and guidelines, and then use the forum's search function or your web search engine of choice with the words dd-wrt wiki or forum.dd-wrt.com at the tail end of the keywords.

Sorry, not trying to be rude, but all of your posts are redundant and it is just plain exhausting and cumbersome to have the same questions asked yet again when the answers already exist in this forum and/or the wiki.
