I looks like none of the betas from this year, or into last year support the WRT300N v1.

Hi

I'm new to this forum. I also own a Linksys WRT300N v1 and was wondering if it's any advantage updating to the latest build (03-31-2021-r46220) or stick with the very old V24 SP1 from around 2008 or something in between.

What is considered the most recent stable version for this router? I hear that their is good builds to keep and bad builds not to use but I'm not sure of the best way to look that info up.

I hear the newer firmware while it has more security fixes, runs slower on this old hardware even though it's a mini version for this router. The older version runs faster but has no security fixes since 2008.

If anyone is still using this router, it would be nice to hear what build your using and if your having good luck with it.

I'm now interested in configuring it as a Wi-Fi repeater. This is something the original Linksys firmware couldn't do.

I understand that this is obsolete hardware but I already own it, it's wireless speed is fast enough for my needs and it's been very good to me since I bought it.

One last question about the WRT300N. When it was new, it was sold as a N Draft 1.0 version and would be later updated to Final N in firmware. Does the DD-WRT firmware update it to Final N specifications or is it still a N Draft 1.0 (not supporting all features of N)?
