After 3 days of near perfect operation, the 5 GHz radio went down. 2.4 stayed up.
But thats not whats strange, the settings for the radio on reboot changed to 80+80 from VHT80. Which technically i beleive should work anyway on this radio. However the radio stayed down.
Switching the setting back to VHT 80 - which is what it should have been, brought radio back to life.
Any idea what happend?
when radio went down i took this clipping off status
Issues/Errors: 1. 5Ghz WiFi errors 58,431 Received RX errors in 48 hours out of 11.5 million, or ~0.5% loss (WiFi is really buggy compared to r40270 I had in the past). 2. Samba is also still buggy, it may be missing some file indexing buffer in settings (on Windows 10 it gives errors "The specified server cannot perform the requested operation"every time a new folder with many files is accessed)
Settings: Router mode, QOS, VPN, Samba share, USB printing
Uptime: 2 days
Random reboots: At least no reboots
Temperatures CPU 57°C / ath0 47°C / ath1 43 °C
Update 1: It looks like KONG had TX Power set to 30dBm (shows 23dBm in web interface) strentgh for 5GHz. After matching to KONG default settings WiFi RX/TX errors disappeared. This might also be relevant for R7800
Update 2 Hooray! Fix 43335 for removal of conditional trans cache buffer for samba in Ksmbd fixed the Windows 10 error "The specified server cannot perform the requested operation" error (https://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/43335). So I suggest installing the New Build - 06/10/2020 - r43381 if you have same issue.
This looks like a rock solid build. Apart from missing trans cache buffer fix for samba it is working well. Great work Brainslayer and community of all supporters!

Router/Version: Netgear R7800

Previous: Kong r40270

Decided to upgrade my last unit that was running Kong f/w. Reset the config to be sure. Flashed from r40270 right to r43334 no issues on the flash and functionality so far. _________________ R7800 AP WDS - OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r16941

Thanks for giving me hope that there is a newer firmware version for my secondhand Netgear R7800.
I'd like to upgrade, but have seen warnings of bricking issues when upgrading from non-standard versions. I'm not technical, and can follow instructions pretty well, but would be lost if things go wrong.
Several of you mention upgrading to DD-WRT v3.0-r43334 std (06/04/20) firmware from versions like r43192, r43290, r43306, r43320 std. My router came with DD-WRT v3.0-r402270M kongat (7/11/19), which seems to not be standard.
Can I simply upgrade from this version to DD-WRT v3.0-r43334 std (06/04/20) using the web interface after downloading the img file, or will I need to perform intermediate steps before I can install this version?

Thanks for any pointers or words of wisdom!
