Linksys WRT54g vs TP-Link WR841n

I have a Linksys WRT54g router upgraded to the DDWRT firmware, I also have a TP link TL-WR841N/TL-WR841ND with original firmware. My question is would I get better or faster internet with the TP Link router than the Linksys and should I install DDWRT on the Linksys or not. If so what version should I use. I am using the Linksys as a repeater and would do the same with the TP-Link. The router that is repeated from is a TP-Link AC1750 Router. Also I run wireless cameras to the repeater and wondering if they would get better reception with the TP-Link repeater.
