This has to be something really simple..
I updated my firmware on R7000 to r45863 that I use for VPN access. I reset to defaults, and am manually entering my settings, but can not log into the router using Firefox browser after changing 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1
It just times out when I type in the address 192.168.2.1? I am guessing it has something to do with "/24" but am unsure.
I tried adding subnet mask, ipconfig renew|release, etc.
I have never had this problem before when installing new build. Any help is appreciated. _________________ ASUS RT-AX88U

I never use FF but I did the other day when upgrading a router.
It kept defaulting to https which is not enabled in my setup.
Had me perplexed for a bit. Perhaps too simple?

Thanks for the reply.
I am able to login into IP 192.168.1.1 but as soon as I change it to 192.168.2.1 I am no longer able to log into the router. I am so confused. I have tried both FF and Chrome with same results. I will try to install an older build I guess. I am using r45863 right now. _________________ ASUS RT-AX88U

Ever think you need to refresh your computer/phone client IP address so you can access the new IP of the router? Pretty sure you just might still have an IP address in the 192.168.1.x subnet. Sometimes, you have to use that good ol network troubleshooter to reset the interface on Win10, since it's such a piece of sh*t when it comes to this these days. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
