[WARNING]: This thread is only for feedback on this beta release for developers and the community's benefit.
DO NOT flash this beta release unless you understand the risks involved and device specificrecovery methods.
Avoid discussions! Create threads for questions, general problems or use search; this thread is not for support.
Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.
Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
• DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in the GUI, but v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. #6246
• WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices(only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work
in some configurations for certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Use client or repeater instead.
• VAPs not working at bootfixed for unbridged VAPs in40562 - 40566. Effective startup commandsdiscussion thread is here.
• If start-up scripts do not work from USB add a delay, e.g. wait script or 'sleep 25'.
• Broadcom ARM devices if 5 GHz channels are missing, via Telnet/SSH: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'reboot'
• Show us your findings with steps to reproduce, configuration, output, logs and important information below!
Important:
• For issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog, klog, serial, strace, tcpdump, wireshark etc.
• Any firewall NAT or WAN issues, show output: 'iptables -vnL', 'iptables -t nat -vnL', 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' and /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search SVN tickets & discuss in forum before opening. Before reporting: reset & manually set up, not restore from a backup.
• Please include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, CB, WDS, Mesh) & relevant configuration information.

Router/Version: Netgear R7000 Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r45891 std (03/04/21) Kernel: Linux 4.4.258 #2182 SMP Wed Mar 3 11:55:03 +07 2021 armv7l Mode: Gateway, Wireless AP. Reset: Nope. Previous: 02-28-2021-r45863 Status: Working really well so far! I'm not currently using Samba, I have a NAS. I may plug in an old USB for testing. Most Speedtest results hang around the 150Mbps range on the 5GHz wireless for some reason. The link is capable of faster rates but they appear they default back to the 150Mbps rate. The TX Power setting under wl0-Advanced and wl1-Advanced when set to manual has no affect. wl -i eth1 txpwr -o 70 under administration commands does nothing as well! The override option is missing. When you press the "Apply Settings" button in the GUI under "Administration>Management" corruption occurs. Temperatures: CPU 53.6 °C / WL0 45.0 °C / WL1 50.5 °C

if i pull the drive and connect it to my windows box, all the info is there. if i reformat and connect it back to the router, it mounts. this has happened for the past three versions. what am i doing wrong here?

The current version of samba will not mount unclean volumes. This has been discussed.
@Abboo: Not entirely sure if Win7 requires some extra trickery, but have you adjusted min and max smb version settings to see if it is now a configuration error there, have you made any adjustments in Win7 itself? Personally, I don't see why you're tempting fate running an unsupported version of Windows unless you are paying M$ for updates or have another solution going on. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

It mounted perfectly fine on the last version and I have done nothing but upgrade to the latest version. Are you suggesting that sda3 is not clean or sda itself?

I'm suggesting that the current samba is finnicky as heck and may mount the drive one day and not mount it the next. The first reported issue was with an ntfs volume, but apparently the ext* filesystem volumes are having issues as well. Samba is an ongoing work in progress still. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Thank you!!! That is exactly the information I needed. Any idea which recent version Samba started to become an issue?

I have it set to the min and maximum protocol range.
As to the OS, I do not think it is a factor; I have read a report with a similar issue with Win 10.
Also, even though I am not a tech guru, only an end user, I like Win7 because it gives me greater control than Win10. Win10 can unilaterally update my computer and may break something.
