I have the same issue. I can't access Samba shares even using a user name and password on any Windows Pc. When I rolled back to r45767 everything works again.

I have enter all usernames I know and matching passwords, nothing works, dd-wrt username and password, windows administrator password and username; to log into my computer you must also enter the administrator password; nothing work.

I was trying to find if you had posted a screenshot of your samba configuration. That may help us figure out where the problem is, BUT there was a couple of commits to hopefully work around this issue in the next release:

Why don't you have a user added?

Please learn how to take a screenshot within a current active window: alt + print screen then paste into Paint.NET.

...or windows key + print screen saves automatically to a file...or use snipping tool, all no wider than 768 pixels.

...or use an external image host such as postimages to directly link an image with the forum's insert img function.

Previous: v3.0-r45767 std (02/17/21)
Mode/Status: AP wired and wireless, Up and running for 1.5 days.
Reset: Soft boot before and after upgrade
Temperatures: CPU 56.9 °C / WL0 44.5 °C / WL1 49.7 °C
Issues/Errors: Nothing significant

Updated via webif. No 'nvram erase' this time, last one was in July 2018 (r36325).

There is a minor issue with the packet count on wl0.1 and "Connected Clients" stuck at zero. The wl0 and wl1 counts seem correct.
Upload and Download speeds are to ISP spec. Nothing unexpected in the syslog.

Current basic R7000 setup (subject to change of course):
- Static WAN IP
- SFE - On
- STP - On
- IPv4 only, both WAN and LAN
- LAN DHCP Enabled
- Wireless: AP, Regulatory Domain = CANADA, wl0 Mixed (ch. 6), wl1 AC/N-Mixed (ch. 149, VHT80), AES
- 1 wireless VLAN on wl0
- SNMP disabled, SSH enabled, Telnet disabled
- Firewall enabled, Log Level high
- Syslog: to local server. klogd: disabled.
- USB support - Off
- No custom scripts
- NO: ttraf, Tor, VNC, Zabbix, VPN, Radius, OpenVPN
- NO: UPnP, DMZ, QoS
- NO: Samba, CIFS, JFFS2, miniDLNA, Entware, Optware

The guest access is broken even in r45859.

The fix so far for me was to add more users to your shares for each computer to have access to the shares. One account does not work over more than 1 computer since it is not allowed now.

So add another user name and password to your list in dd-wrt. Then click save and apply and I would suggest a reboot too of the router.

Then wait about 5 to 10 mins for the Samba service to boot and set itself up.

Then use the user name and password that is not being used on other systems. It will allow access this time.
