[WARNING]: This thread is only for feedback on this beta release for developers and the community's benefit.
DO NOT flash this beta release unless you understand the risks involved and device specific recovery methods.
Avoid discussions! Create threads for questions, general problems or use search; this thread is not for support.
Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.

Downloads: (DD-WRT website) HTTPS & FTP (try another if a link does not work)

CLI Flash: 'cd /tmp' then 'wget {file URL}' (or 'curl -k {file URL} -o {file}') with http (not https) or ftp. Then 'write {file} linux'.

Repository: Trac SVN changelog since last build r45820 (GitHub mirror)

Notes:
OpenVPN 2.5.1: Setup Guides, Server, PBR, update tips, scripts and more.
WireGuard 1.0.20210219/Tools: Setup Guides, Client, Server, Advanced, update tips, scripts and more. Thanks BS & egc!
• CVE-2019-14899 VPN fix (applicability depends on VPN setup) and GUI toggle since r41813.
Experimental build option for Broadcom 8MB+ K2.x devices (limited currently): broadcom_K3X_mipsel32r1
• Broadcom MIPS devices are now on kernel 4.4. • Support added for TP-Link Archer C8 v2 and v3.
• Dnsmasq 2.84 • SmartDNS update • MiniDLNA 1.3.0 • Privoxy 3.0.31 • Unbound 1.13.1 CoovaChilli 1.6
In-kernel Samba (ksmbd 3.3.5+): default min/max versions changed. • WSD updated. • ANTFS/NTFS3 kernel mode drivers.

Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in the GUI, but v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. #6246
WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work
in some configurations for certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Use client or repeater instead.
VAPs not working at boot fixed for unbridged VAPs in 40562 - 40566. Effective startup commands discussion thread is here.
If start-up scripts do not work from USB add a delay, e.g. wait script or 'sleep 25'.
Broadcom ARM devices if 5 GHz channels are missing, via Telnet/SSH: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'reboot'
Show us your findings with steps to reproduce, configuration, output, logs and important information below!

Important:
• For issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog, klog, serial, strace, tcpdump, wireshark etc.
• Any firewall NAT or WAN issues, show output: 'iptables -vnL', 'iptables -t nat -vnL', 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' and /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search SVN tickets & discuss in forum before opening. Before reporting: reset & manually set up, not restore from a backup.
• Please include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, CB, WDS, Mesh) & relevant configuration information.

Example Template:
Code:
[b]Router/Version: [/b]
[b]File/Kernel: [/b]
[b]Previous/Reset: [/b]
[b]Mode/Status: [/b]
[b]Issues/Errors: [/b]

Router/Version: Asus RT-AC88U / v3.0-r45849 std (02/25/21)
File/Kernel: Linux version 4.4.258 (root@linux) (gcc version 10.0.1 (OpenWrt GCC 10.0.1 r12423-0493d57e04) ) #2138 SMP Thu Feb 25 10:36:40 +06 2021
Previous: r45767 (same issue)
Reset: yes
Reboot: yes
Mode: Gateway (Router tested)
Status: Stable except for the following:
Issues/Errors: Devices cannot connect to WLAN if interface both is bridged and has wireless security enabled. Occurs whether using VAPs or not.
To Reproduce: from fresh install:
Quote:
nvram set rc_startup='
#!/bin/ash
PATH="/sbin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin:${PATH}"

brctl addbr br10
ifconfig br10 192.168.10.1 netmask 255.255.255.0
brctl delif br0 eth1
brctl addif br10 eth1

rc restart

# Included for completeness but has only minor effect
sleep 20; stopservice nas; wlconf eth1 down; wlconf eth2 down; wlconf eth1 up; wlconf eth2 up; startservice nas; logger "VAP workaround executed";
'

GUI:
- Dnsmasq additional settings:
interface=br10
dhcp-range=192.168.10.100,192.168.10.128,255.255.255.0,3600

- Wireless:
Disable wl1 (5Ghz) to ensure connection to correct interface

Steps:
    1) Reboot
    2) Connect to bridged, insecure WAP - successful
    3) Change wl0 wireless security to any security mode except Disabled (e.g.: WPA2-PSK (TKIP))
    4) Reconnect to bridged, secure WAP - fails.
    Logging:
    /tmp/var/log/messages: "dhd_flow_rings_delete_for_peer: ifindex 0"
PuTTY via TTL serial cable: "CONSOLE: 027092.058 wl0: Proxy STA [device mac] link is already gone !!??"
    5) Return wireless interface back to br0: brctl delif br10 eth1; brctl addif br0 eth1
    6) Reconnect to unbridged, secure WAP - successful

Notes:
- If 'stopservice nas; wlconf eth1 down... etc.' is not included, output in PuTTY from step 4 does not appear.
- Symptoms are identical if a VAP is set up instead of the eth1 interface
- There are also reports of Broadcom bridge / security issues going back to 2010 although all the issues I have found related to VAPs, which do not (necessarily) seem relevant here

if in guest if you are asked for user account. wenn known windows behaviour. you are trying to forcefully authenticate with a empty username

Hello,

A quiet new on this forum and also into upgrading routers this was my first upgrade

I'm going through few issues currently

01 after i finished the upgrading and did the reset i couldn't find lan connection so i managed solve that by changing that from command prompt on my Windows 10

02 after doing the basic settings and ip configuration Internet wouldn't work after i changed the settings from command prompt from dns to dchp my net starting working.

03 also if i change any settings i lose my connection again from wifi

Also if i made i mistake in giving out the details do let me know I'll correct it

i seriously have no idea what you are talking about

From Windows explorer, click on network and in the section labeled 'Media devices', click on dd-wrt. It opens and allows you to access your files.
From Windows explorer, click on network and in the section labeled 'computer', click on dd-wrt. A window pops up asking for username and password. I have enter all usernames I know and matching passwords, nothing works, dd-wrt username and password, windows administrator password and username; to log into my computer you must also enter the administrator password; nothing work.

I was trying to find if you had posted a screenshot of your samba configuration. That may help us figure out where the problem is, BUT there was a couple of commits to hopefully work around this issue in the next release:

Just tested those commits but no Sad
Keeps asking for a credential with user admin.

If I make a user admin in Samba/users with same credentials as it has in ddwrt I can actually write to my ext4 formatted share but trying to copy it back no go Sad
I do use a torture test writing 1.3 GB data with about 1000 files big and small.

The only reliable way to use a NAS is with ext4 formatted drive and using the old Samba36 but that could just be me doing something stupid (that is what the wife always tells me LoL )
