I have a TP-Link TL-WR740N router with DD-WRT installed. I have an ethernet socket in my room to receive TV feed for a TV Box. I can connect to the router from a web browser and setup the router login and wifi passwords. I have plugged the router into the wall socket and the TV Box onto the LAN Port 1. It all works fine, the router and the TV box has configured with the correct IP, Gateway and DNS.
Here is were my problems start....I have 2 problems.

1/ The routers configuration has changed to a different subnet (I think that's the right term) from 192.168.1.1 to 10.xxx.xxx.x and I can no longer connect to the router interface from the web browser to change settings. I can plug my laptop into Lan port 2 and receive internet, of course laptop IP and Gateway is 10.xxx.xxx.x
The only way I've been able to reconnect is to do a factory reset and I loose all the settings.

2/ When the router conf changes to 10.xxx.... the router wifi gets all messed up....I can connect to the wifi but no internet.

Ideally what I would like to do is leave the TV box connected to LAN 1 on 10.xxx.xxx.x and if possible configure LAN 2, 3, 4 and router wifi to 192.168.1.x

I would be greatful for any help or assistance.

Probably DHCP gave other IP's. When you plug laptop by wire to lan2 port check command ipconfig /all Router should be available on Default gateway IP. Old IP is not functional when you have new IP. When you want use own IP you can change it when you make first configuration after restore factory default. You can disable DHCP (then you will have manual IP's config) for local network or use static DHCP function (automatic IP from DHCP should be always the same).
