Router: Asus RT-N16

The firmware was made in 2010, some of the prefix was v24-sp2 and mega

I tried to flash my router to the K3x firm ware and bricked it, tried using the K24 mini from the current batch of firmwares available at: https://dd-wrt.com/support/router-database/?model=RT-N16_-

even the mini was causing some wonky stuff where it would boot up and allow you to navigate to the web GUI set it all up but upon reboot would go back to default settings.

anyway, after getting it back on the asus default firmware I got it working so I can put this post. But I cannot find the old firmware I was on from back in 2010, If you could direct me to where this would be and I can get back to my old firmware that would be much appreciated.

Initial flash should be a k26, then k3x if you choose to upgrade:

https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Asus_RT-N16

Asus devices seem to be especially tricky with recent builds, check the release threads.

I am not entirely sure what build you had before from 2010, but you can look through here, although if you read the device wiki, you should be able to work with that information to get things sorted. I don't have this device in hand to give you any advice on a go-to current stable build.

I had a build that has the prefix v24-sp2, where are those firmwares. I checked the link you gave me and saw v24.

But Im trying to get back to the build that I saved my nvrambak file from. (which I didn't realize was config info only, I thought it was like the Ubiquiti routers at work where the backup file is the config AND the firmware so it's a one and done backup.)

God I wish I took a screenshot of my settings panel.

I have seen no v24-sp2 folders on any download resource, including: https://dd-wrt.com/support/other-downloads/

Chances are, you're going to have to start over if you can't find a build that you can restore your configurations to.

I have one build from 2010. It is a mega build that supported web cams. Its the only one I have from that era.

Oh sweet merciful christ. I actually picked the right one. My settings loaded

I knew it was something where the date were numbers close together. Ok, I found my old firmware, in the actual dashboard it says v24-sp2 but it's not labeled as such in the file name or in the directory you guys showed me.

Well, glad that worked out, I've taken a picture and saved the mini and mega plus my nvrambak and stock firmware all to a folder on my dropbox for posterity.

As by your picture, it's the build 15437 (year 2010).
