Router/Version: Netgear R6250 v1
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r45563 std (01/24/21)
Kernel: Linux DD-WRT 4.4.252 #1881 SMP Sat Jan 23 13:44:41 +07 2021 armv7l DD-WRT
Mode: Gateway, Wireless AP
Reset: No

Upgrade: Web and 1st succeed without reset.

DHCP Server: Enabled - Running (no need to dial-up like DSL, it is cable connection after modem)
Disable (Samba, WRT-radauth, WRT-rflow, MAC-upd,CIFS Automount, Sputnik Agent, USB Support)

5GHZ works stable and less than 100 errors on TX/RX everyday
AC/N Mixed
CH64 VHT80 (Verified on Android/"WiFi Overview 360" that those channels are only NOT occupied, from 50-64)
upper+upper
2 Beamformings and Airtime Fairness enabled.

Max Associated Clients : 64

2.4GHZ works stable but more than 10000 errors on TX/RX everyday
N-Only
CH11 (Verified on Android/"WiFi Overview 360" that all channels are occupied by neighbour channels are only NOT occupied, from 50-64)
Preamble and Shortslot Override LONG and Auto. (Any device found and connection SSID very faster)
TX power:Auto
Beacon Interval: 400
DTIM Interval:1
Fragmentation Threshold=RTS Threshold=784
Max Associated Clients : 16

Why gave up Netgear official firmware ? Because I need more functions.
Why gave up Fresh-Tomato ? Because the Linux Kernel is 2.xx, but it indeed supports dual bands well
Why gave up OpenWRT? OpenWRT is very good, I did dnscrypt v2 and wireguard works well (Do you know that the combination will have a fixed public IP literally ?). However, Netgear R6250 works as a wired router only.

Kernel Version: Linux 2.6.24.111 #19972 Sun Jan 24 00:34:11 +07 2021 mips

Lo wifi

Router booted but was not talking out ethernet ports. Connected via wifi and executed the orphaned interfaces fix from wiki, was then able to connect via ethernet port.

Wifi appears to not be very sensitive on a Site Survey only picked up 1 neighbor while other dd-wrt routers pick up around 6 of them

Firmware: v3.0-r45563 std (01/24/21)
Router/Version: Netgear R7000
Kernel: Linux 4.4.252 #1881 SMP Sat Jan 23 13:44:41 +07 2021 armv7l
Previous: v3.0-r45493 std (01/19/21)
Mode/Status: AP wired and wireless, Up and running for 24 hours.
Reset: Soft boot before and after upgrade
Temperatures: CPU 58.6 °C / WL0 45.1 °C / WL1 50.4 °C
Issues/Errors: Nothing significant

Updated via webif. No 'nvram erase' this time, last one was in July 2018 (r36325).

There is a mysterious "Sysctl" tab in the Administration tab that seems to allow a lot of fine-tuning. It is very tempting to change some of these just to see what happens. Wink

There is a minor issue with the packet count on wl0.1 and "Connected Clients" stuck at zero. The wl0 and wl1 counts seem correct.
Upload and Download speeds are to ISP spec. Nothing unexpected in the syslog.

Current basic R7000 setup (subject to change of course):
- Static WAN IP
- SFE - On
- STP - On
- IPv4 only, both WAN and LAN
- LAN DHCP Enabled
- Wireless: AP, Regulatory Domain = CANADA, wl0 Mixed (ch. 6), wl1 AC/N-Mixed (ch. 149, VHT80), AES
- 1 wireless VLAN on wl0
- SNMP disabled, SSH enabled, Telnet disabled
- Firewall enabled, Log Level high
- Syslog: to local server. klogd: disabled.
- USB support - Off
- No custom scripts
- NO: ttraf, Tor, VNC, Zabbix, VPN, Radius, OpenVPN
- NO: UPnP, DMZ, QoS
- NO: Samba, CIFS, JFFS2, miniDLNA, Entware, Optware
