Downloads: (DD-WRT website) HTTPS & FTP (try another if a link doesn't work)

CLI Flash: 'cd /tmp' then 'wget {file URL}' (or 'curl -k {file URL} -o {file}') with http (not https) or ftp. Then 'write {file} linux'.

Repository: Trac SVN changelog since last build r45385 (GitHub mirror)

Notes:
• CVE-2019-14899 VPN fix (applicability depends on VPN setup) and GUI toggle. 6920, 6928, 6931, 6932 (WIP 7040)
In-kernel Samba has been implemented this year and default min/max versions have changed 6954, 6957, with WSD support.
• VAP issue is fixed! For any Wireless Mode, create a VAP and both ath0/ath1 should now function properly.
• Local DNS option removed from Services->DNSMasq in changesets 43080 and 43081; ref: #7092
• DHCP and DNS help (English) updated in 43083; ref: #7091
• WireGuard 1.0.20200908 & Tools: PBR, Kill Switch, Inbound Firewall, Naming of Peers, Status, Key, Guides. Thanks BS & egc!
• OpenVPN Version 2.5.0

Issues:
• There may be remaining issues for Samba (for example NTFS), with frequent updates.

Important:
• If reporting issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog, serial output, strace, tcpdump etc.
• For firewall NAT or WAN issues provide 'iptables -vnL', 'iptables -t nat -vnL', 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' and the /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search existing SVN tickets before opening a new one. Before reporting, reset and manually setup (no nvram backup).
• Be sure to include operating and wireless modes (Gateway, AP, CB, etc.) along with relevant configuration information.

[b]Router/Version: [/b]
[b]File/Kernel: [/b]
[b]Previous/Reset: [/b]

Upgraded WRT1200AC v1's from r45229 to r45420 using Brave Version 1.10.97 (64-bit) running on Linux Mint 20.1 OS hardwired via Cat6.

Successful update and reboot. No reset, nothing disabled prior to update, uptime approx 1 hr, wired/wireless connected, vpn up immediately (Expressvpn). I do not use NAS. SFE and IPv6 are always disabled. OpenVPN client/DNSMasq, QoS with PIE always enabled. I do not have any Apple devices.

Kernel Version Linux 4.9.249 #2336 SMP Wed Jan 13 02:59:52 +07 2021 armv7l

OpenVPN 2.5.0 arm-unknown-linux-gnu [SSL (OpenSSL)] [LZO] [LZ4] [EPOLL] [MH/PKTINFO] [AEAD] built on Jan 13 2021
library versions: OpenSSL 1.1.1i 8 Dec 2020 LZO 2.09

No issues with a routine update session. Everything up. Did a random check of GUI tabs and found no issues. Will do some streaming later and update post if I have any issues.

Router/Version: WRT1900AC v1
File/Kernel: DD-WRT v3.0-r45420 std (01/13/21)
Previous/Reset: r45000 - no reset
Mode/Status: Gateway / Access Point
Issues/Errors: None so far.

Wired speed seems good. Tested connectivity on 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. No dropouts on Windows (Intel cards), Android, or iPhone. Attended several Zoom and Teams meetings while my wife streamed Netflix without any hiccups.

Upgraded my 1900ACSv1 from 44048 to 45420 via GUI with Safari. No reset.

Performance was great for about 10 minutes before my iphone froze up - it remained connected to the router but no wifi traffic was flowing. It fixed itself about 7 minutes later, but I was able to reproduce it repeatedly with speedtests or other apps. Clash of Clans seems to trigger it immediately Smile My macbook also had the same issue twice - temporarily fixed by recycling wifi on the macbook. In fact, my macbook froze up as I was uploading 44048 to fallback. I was able to fall back to 44048 and restore settings from a backup.

Here are wifi settings I have in-common between 5ghz, 2.4ghz. Note I disabled protection-mode but this did not seem to help. IPv6 is disabled. Firewall is disabled. SFE disabled. STP disabled. DHCP disabled. QOS is disabled. It really is a simple config.

30 tx power
0 antenna gain
U-APSD disabled
Protection mode disabled
RTS threshold disabled
short-preamble enabled
short-gi enabled
SU-beamforming enabled
MU-beamforming disabled
BI 100
DTIM 2
WMM enable
Ack timing 1350

More details below:

Linksys WRT1900ACSv1: router mode, hardwired ethernet lan to WRT3200ACM. WIFI: 2.4ghz: NG-mixed, 20mhz channel width, channel 11, WPA2-CCMP-128. 5ghz: AC/N mixed, 80mhz channel width, channel 36+upper, WPA2-CCMP-128.

Clients: Apple MACOS x 4, IOS x 4, Apple TV, Chromecast Audio x 2, Eufy doorbells, Lutron Caseta, Axis Camera, Samsung TV, Nest thermostat, EtekCity outlets (Espressif)..

These routers are dual partition. Simply change the boot partition then reboot to restore previous. Then restore your config.
Code:
ubootenv get boot_part

Output will return CRC then a value of 1 or 2. Then set the alternate. The example below returned 1. If get returns 2, set 1.
Code:
ubootenv set boot_part 2
Code:
reboot

Works fine on my 3200ACM upgraded from the 01/01/2021 build.

Works on all devices including an old xbox 360 wireless.

Will report back if there's any issues.

ACK Timing normally is 500 or Less. 1350 means device is far far away from the wireless router around 675 meters away from the router.

Reading your post and checking my ACK setting I found it to be at 2000. I have no recollection of changing the setting since purchase. Apparently 2000 was the default at one time? Having no issues I will leave my setting at 2000 for now. Thanks for noting this setting default.

I might try 500 or the 0 setting mentioned in the wiki later just for fun "-Recommended setting is 0 for a household network. Which for Linksys users means DD-WRT doesn't use ACK timing at all."

Sensitivity Range (ACK Timing) default setting was 2000 some time ago, but now is 500.

Maybe try wireless network mode Mixed for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

I notice you have a lot of internet of things, smart home automation etc.

These are likely the source of your problems, and in this case try G-Only or BG-Mixed for 2.4 GHz.

May want to separate them with VAP to apply different settings (e.g. mode, wmm) and isolate them with VLAN.

Or, simply disconnect them from Marvell WRT series entirely and use another router.
