• In-kernel Samba has been implemented this year and default min/max versions have changed 6954, 6957, with WSD support.
• VAP issue is fixed! For any Wireless Mode, create a VAP and both ath0/ath1 should now function properly.
• Local DNS option removed from Services->DNSMasq in changesets 43080 and 43081; ref: #7092
• DHCP and DNS help (English) updated in 43083; ref: #7091
• WireGuard 1.0.20200908 & Tools: PBR, Kill Switch, Inbound Firewall, Naming of Peers, Status, Key, Guides. Thanks BS & egc!
• OpenVPN Version 2.5.0
Issues:
• There may be remaining issues for Samba (for example NTFS), with frequent updates.
Important:
• If reporting issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog, serial output, strace, tcpdump etc.
• For firewall NAT or WAN issues provide 'iptables -vnL', 'iptables -t nat -vnL', 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' and the /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search existing SVN tickets before opening a new one. Before reporting, reset and manually setup (no nvram backup).
• Be sure to include operating and wireless modes (Gateway, AP, CB, etc.) along with relevant configuration information.
Just upgraded from 44048 and settings were retained. I want to try out the built in PPTP VPN server again (never could get that to work successfully in 44048 with the built in windows vpn client)
After running for a few hours I had constant wifi dropouts on all devices (not intermittent but wifi completely stopped working: Nest Thermostat, Amazon Echos, Samsung Galaxy S10+, Win10 HP laptop, all devices failed)
Downgraded to 44849, going to try that before going back to 44084.

Upgraded WRT1200AC v1's from r44849 to r44863 using Brave Version 1.10.97 (64-bit) running on Linux Mint 20 OS.
Successful update and reboot. No reset, nothing disabled prior to update, uptime approximately 22 hours, wired/wireless connected, vpn up immediately (Expressvpn). I do not use NAS. SFE and IPv6 are always disabled. OpenVPN client/DNSMasq, QoS with PIE always enabled. I do not have any Apple devices.

No issues for me. I updated at 5 pm yesterday and watched about 3 hrs of streaming later on. Noticed the reported wifi issues this morning so I have the two FireHD tablets (5/2.4) on all day without drops. Received random updates. Also let a 2 hr Netflix movie stream as well without drops. Will do some streaming later this evening. Will report any drops if noticed. Wired working fine, two corp VPN's passed thru with all other devices on routers client.
Edit: Did not watch the netflix movie but checked on it's progress several times until completed. If drops occured it did not affect the feed.
Linksys WRT1200AC
About 10 hours or so I experienced WiFi issues (zombie connection).
I went back to 44048, must mention that none of the latest builds(since 44048) are stable for my router.
Upgraded 3200ACM from previous build, just one issue but that's due to my setup.
The last two builds have more options for the OpenVPN client (or is it last three?) so when you update from a previous version, make sure to re-check those.
With the return to proper settings the OpenVPN client is happy and no issues so far, will update if there's any. _________________ Router: Linksys WRT3200ACM

Streamed for several more hours without wireless/wired issues. My network is fairly simple with tablets,TV's and app devices, no camaras, doorbells etc.
As Argenis mentioned above everyone should check their VPN setup. My "Encryption Cipher" had been defaulted to CHACHA20-POLY 1305 for no reason. Still worked but changing it back to ExpressVPN's recommended AES-256-CBC seemed to speed up my browsing.
Edit: Second WRT1200AC v1 updated with no wired/wireless issues.
With no guidance found on the new VPN Client setup I set the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Data Ciphers to the same as my Encryption Cipher and that seems to work fine. See attachment.
I upgraded my WRT1200AC V2 from 44048 to this version today. It worked OK for a while, but after an hour or so the 5GHz wifi speeds fell off from approx. 100 Mbps to less that 30 Mbps. The 2.4GHz wifi seemed fine, as did the wired network. I ended up booting back to 44048, and when I did, the configuration was gone. Fortunately I'd done a backup just before the upgrade, so that I could put it back in place.
I've had the problem with slow 5Ghz wifi with newer releases, but I hadn't encountered the problem with the config getting wiped out before.
Edit: I upgraded using Seamonkey 1.19 on SPARC Solaris 10, connecting to port 1 on the router. _________________ Linksys WRT1200ACv2 - DD-WRT v3.0-r44048 std (08/02/20)

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I should have said no guidance from my VPN provider. I try to keep my VPN setup as close to their recommendations as possible.
They have not updated their setup page for 2.5 yet so I will keep checking until their page is updated. =)

Same here on 1900ACv1.
Samsung TabA would hang connection every hour or so. Toggling WiFi on it fixed it. Oddly, my Windows laptop never had an issue.

I do wish ExpressVPN would update their recommended settings for DD-WRT configurations or a member here would post their own optimal tweeks. _________________ Linksys WRT3200ACM
