Hello,

I have been trying to follow the setup for WireGaurd. The first thing it says is to go to the following.

1.In the DD-WRT GUI go to Setup/Tunnels
2.Add Tunnel

It seems pretty simple. But that feature is not available in the Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) micro.

Can anyone give me other setup instructions that might be a better fit for the only DD-WRT firmware that seems to work on my Linksys WRT54G2 V1.3 router?

Upgrade your firmware, you are using 10 year old version.

to at least get you to 2020.

I guess there are no vpn versions of firmware that work with my device. Anything that is newer that I flash with that says it will work does not.

Based on the hardware specs:

No 2mb of flash is not a lot, and then even at that processor speed, you would go really slow.

The most you may find on a 2MB flash device is PPTP, which is antiquated and insecure. You need something with a little more horsepower and flash space. WireGuard also requires a 3.10 or newer kernel, if I'm not mistaken. Your WRT54* probably still has a 2.4 kernel.
