WireGuard on DLink DIR-600

Hi Smile

I got an old D-Link router from my colleague so I flashed the newest build of dd-wrt and followed up a procedure of setting up WireGuard tunnel but failed on the following step:

Under „Protocol Type” I do see only following:
- RFC 3378 Ethernet Over IP
- Mikrotik

No option „WireGuard”...

What amI missing here? 🧐

I presume you meant this as the latest build:

Considering it is a 4MB flash device, it may not have WireGuard included due to flash size constraints.

It is also a matter of Kernel version, you need at least K3.10, coincidentally I think all 4 MB flash routers are K2.X.

I know Atheros 4MB flash routers are K3.x, I have a couple here. I think the only ones that are not may be Broadcom / WRT-54* series and clones, but there are experimental K3.x builds for those now, too, if memory serves? Would have to sift through all the config files on SVN...

Where can I check if the WireGuard feature is included in the firmware for DIR600 ?

Setup->Tunnels is where it should be, if I am not mistaken. And that is if that functionality is included in 4MB flash images with the required kernel version(s).

OpenVPN could also be lacking because of the same reason Sad.

Older builds can have an OpenVPN build, if it is not present in recent look at builds around 35000

But throughput on OpenVPN will probably be not more than a few Mb/s
