I was able to successfully flash my linksys e1200 v2 to DD WRT V3.0 R35531 mega (3/26/2018. It works great. I first did as suggested and flashed it with the 19519 build first.
Now that I got it working does anyone know what steps I need to do for use as a repeater bridge . I have cat 5 cables run to every room in my home and the e1200 will have a wired connection.
My main router is linksys EA7300.
What needs to be changed in the e1200v2 linksys with the dd wrt firmware so it will work as a repeater bridge. Thanks
The reason I used the older firmware is because when I go to the link supplied I didn't see the linksy sE1200 v2 ?
I didn't know which one of these to use ?
It has been 10 years since I last did this type of thing and I just plain forgot how.
!!!!!Picture Deleted for not following the width rules-768 pixels wide!!!!!
Seems like I remember that all I had to do was
Disable DHCP and set the wireless channel different from the other router(s)
Maybe 192.168.3.1 ?
So really I didn't even need the DD-WRT software ? if I am wired. Just make the second router an AP ? and disable DHCP ? of course setting the new address to something other than 192.168.1.1 ?
I think maybe more like 15 years since I last did this.
Its tough getting old
I do like these added features in the dd-wrt firmware though. I used Tomato years ago on a WRT 54 G v4 router but again its been so long I forgot how

Are you running a K2.6 or K3.x image?
The file(s) you seek would be under broadcom_k26 or broadcom_k3x folders under the build revision number. The thing is, if you are running K3.x, there is a point at which it was transitioned to a 4.x kernel recently...

Why are u using such an old version of the firmware?
I get lost trying to find the lasted build for my linksys e1200 v2
Maybe someone can point me to the correct one. I didn't see one.
Sorry for the questions but I am new to this.
I also plan on using another one of these e1200 v2 routers at my shop to extend my signal and it won't be wired.
I have been reading and so far the more I read the more I get lost.
Hope someone can share some help on this. Anyway, Thanks

As stated in the wiki, use the -nv64k.bin builds (after checking the build threads for issues!). E.g.:
dd-wrt.v24-44627_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-nv64k.bin
Trailed ("-e1200v2.bin") builds are just for initial flash, though they normally can also be used (but not always) for upgrades. _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

Thanks for all the great help.
I now have the newest version installed.
Now, being I am wired and don't need to set this router as a repeater then do I use the simple steps or normal steps ?
If I use simple is that all I have to do? In other words I won't have to change the settings on my Roku tv ?
I have been reading but still need help. Thanks again.

There isn't much difference b/t simple and normal, except normal disables some unneeded functionality* and the steps have more details. You don't change anything on any client for either mode, so long as you set up the AP for the SSID/password used on the client.
*In addition to Simple mode, Normal mode also:
disables dnsmasq/ttraff/WAN, can map WAN as LAN (don't use for high-speed traffic though), disables firewall, and changes to routing mode _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

All I need this one router for is to use with my Roku TV and hope I can stop the wireless signal from buffering . It will be sitting right next to the Roku . I see no reason to use anything other than the simple version unless you think I need to use the normal ?
Also I don't know what channel my primary router is set to. It just shows auto so which channel would I set my client to ?
sorry for all the questions.
In other words if I used simple I wouldn't even need this dd wrt firmware ?
Just put the linksys firmware back on it and do the three steps for simple , move it back to the room and plug in the cat 5 cable.
