I've been running dd-wrt for some time and realized that my throughput wasn't great. I started to debug and figured out that on 5GHz my computer was only connecting in A mode rather than N or AC. When I set the 5GHz interface to AC/N (or anything that doesn't include A), my client can't connect to it. It will connect when A mode is available. And it connects to the 2.4GHz just fine.

Running: Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r40559 std (08/06/19)

I've tried different combinations of settings, so now asking here. I've tried connecting with 2 different windows 10 clients and an android client.

Figured it out - changing the security to AES from TKIP did the trick. The clue was here: https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=678838

Hi.

And using build v. 40559 is not helping too. Just read a litle more. All over the forum you will find comments about this crappy build.
