|
Hi,
I have a old router (Linksys WRT54G series) which I managed to put dd-wrt on it few years back and use it as wifi bridge in my old house. Since i have moved it has not been used.
But i want to use it to add vpn to a device
Basically I want to configure it with vpn setting and the connect it to my main router (wired) and connect a tv box to it.
What would be the best setting for it, not using wifi, both connection with wire
Thanks |

not much point of using it at all, its CPU will not handle VPN, even if so, it will be an overkill...
to use VPN its recommended, at least dual core (CPU) router...best results Netgear R7800 or R9000, mid range almost same price R6400v2 or R7000...best bet R7800
as you didn't mention witch version is Linksys WRT54G. i would've say, it doesn't matter at all, they all have old CPU's and not ready for VPN, although there is an VPN firmware version for one of them, as i recall its VPN performance was 1-2MBit max... _________________ Atheros
