I'm currently still contemplating whether to go for Ubiquiti UniFi APs are not. Suppose that I am, is it possible to run the UniFi controller software on my R7800, perhaps by installing it on a USB flash drive and leaving that drive connected to the R7800? The UniFi controller software has a Linux version so I figured it might work..
I will be running DD-WRT on my router as the router works great. I'm just looking for a way to host the UniFi controller software without having an actual server or that Cloud Key thing they sell.

i run a DD-WRT router and host the unifi controller on my windows server. dd-wrt has a better router than ubiq IN MY OPINION. i had to go in to each system seperate to change things but, it's fine for me
I run a non wifi R9000 as main router/YAMon host, Asustor NAS for DHCP duties, and 3 Unifi APs serving 20 wifi devices.
Due to Linux requirements that non of my boxes meet I do the AP hosting from my gaming machine.
Works ok here. _________________ Segment 0 Cisco RV340 Dual WAN router
