What is the latest built which has the ability of an android device finding a nas attached to the router running SMB server? I can find the nas when I am using a windows 10 computer but I am unable to find the nas when using a pixel 2 xl/samsung s8 via ES file Explorer.

I am on version R44213 08/18/20 on a tp-link archer c8.

I tried playing around with the min and max protocol but didn't help. Also tried searching the forum but didn't get a concrete answer. Is there any specific settings I need to change? Main use for my nas is playing my video collection of plex that's installed on my windows 10 pc so I can map a drive so plex knows where to look for the file but I also would like access to the nas on my android phone/firestick so I can add and remove files when needed without needing to turn on my computer.

When you say "andSMB" what do you mean by that? I am unable to find that option.

Here is a screenshot of the settings I currently have.

BTW when playing around with the different SMB protocols I would just click apply settings then save but not reboot. Does that matter?

Could you please resize your screenshots to a maximum width of 760 pixels? (see forum guide lines, link in my signature).

andSMB is an app for your phone I have a Samsung S7 that is what I tried to point out Smile

😁 Got it working on the android phones but unable to load the nas folder on the firestick using es file Explorer.
I see the 192.168.86.1 (my gateway) folder after scanning but when I click on it it just keeps loading. Guess és file Explorer doesn't work with SMB (not a fact just a thought). Hopefully I can install andSMB on the firestick

ksmbd supports SMB1 but it is rather picky, some apps work like andSMB others do not.

I recently saw a commit for ksmbd which should add broader support but it will be some time before that trickles down so do not hold your breath.

ksmbd is a WIP.

Nevermind a quick FS reboot and rescan using the es file Explorer allowed me to connect. I am using the min protocol set to net 1.0 and max to SMB 3.11

Thanks for the help.

Sorry to bring this up again.

I'm on r45493 and for the past 2 months access to the nas via Android phones using andSMB stopped working. It gives an STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED error. I thankfully I can still get to the nas via my computers in the same Lan.

I have been reading the release posts the past two days and tell me if I'm mistaken but samba support seems to be going away. Am I right based on the reading I have done?

If I'm wrong, do you know why andSMB would be giving this error? My minimum protocol is set to nat 1.0 and maximum to SMB 3.11.

Got desperate enough that I played around with openwrt on a different router but it was way above my head.

Any advice would be appreciated.
