I got it working! Additionally I had to update my username to my email, not the actual username. That with the hostname update got it updating.

Thanks everyone!

This no longer works for me. The page

https://www.dnsomatic.com/docs/dd-wrt

has not been updated. This worked for me flawlessly for years.

I know I have to use an e-mail instead of a username now, that change happened a while ago and nothing ever broke until July 20.

I've tried the changes from this thread given in 2019.

I can't be the only one?

I guess as of July 20 (for me anyway) they require HTTPS. So the important information is here (not documented at the dnsomatic web site)

https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/OpenDNS

If you get a badauth error from dnsomatic, it could be that you need to use https instead of http, so try:
https://updates.dnsomatic.com:443/nic/update?hostname=

Yes, that was a new tidbit of information from another thread that I added to the wiki.

The key to getting this working for me was this information from https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/OpenDNS

If you get a badauth error from dnsomatic, it could be that you need to use http instead of https but specify port 443, so try:

http://updates.dnsomatic.com:443/nic/update?hostname=
