Repository: Trac SVN changelog since last build r44085 (GitHub mirror)

Notes:
r41664 or later for SFE NAT (k3.2+), KRACK (k24+), PBR+SFE, CAKE & FQ_CODEL_FAST (reset!), GTK Rekey timer fixes.
• Reset button was broken at 40571, then fixed in build r40750.
Experimental build option for Broadcom 8MB+ K2.x devices (limited currently): broadcom_K3X_mipsel32r1
• CVE-2019-14899 VPN fix (applicability depends on VPN setup) and GUI toggle. 6920, 6928, 6931, 6932 (WIP 7040)
In-kernel Samba has been implemented this year and default min/max versions have changed 6954, 6957, with WSD support.
• Broadcom MIPS devices are now on kernel 4.4. N66U/AC66U half memory is fully resolved.
• Local DNS option removed from Services->DNSMasq in changesets 43080 and 43081; ref: #7092
• DHCP and DNS help (English) updated in 43083; ref: #7091
• WAN lease time approaching zero bug on WRT54* devices fixed in 43191; ref: #6456
• Images for WNR3500Lv2 (BRCM NAND flash crash bug) fixed in 43219 (43217); ref: #7098
WireGuard 1.0.20200712: PBR, Kill Switch, Inbound Firewall, Naming of Peers, Status, Key, Guides. Thanks egc!

Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in the GUI but v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. 6246
WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work in some configurations in certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Use client or repeater instead.
VAPs not working at boot fixed for unbridged VAPs with r40564:40566. Workaround startup command:
sleep 10;stopservice nas;stopservice wlconf;startservice wlconf;startservice nas (there are a few alternatives, search).
If start-up scripts do not work from USB add a delay (e.g. wait script or 'sleep 25').
For Broadcom ARM devices missing 5GHz channels, via telnet/ssh: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'nvram reboot'

Important:
• If reporting issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog/serial output, strace etc.
• For firewall issues provide 'iptables -L', 'iptables -t nat -L' and the /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search existing SVN tickets before opening a new one. Before reporting, reset and manually setup (no nvram backup).
• Be sure to include operating and wireless modes (Gateway, AP, CB, etc.) along with relevant configuration information.

Is this just a sanity check build? I think I'll wait until brainslayer is done with his coding bender and check out the next one!

Status: Working. Have about 30 clients on it.

I did notice two issues during the process of setting up CoovaChilli. See my post for my Linksys EA8500 as it is the same (https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1213822#1213822). I also have a ticket (https://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/7189).

I tried to be as detailed as possible. If there is any logs or additional information I can provide please let me know. My apologies in advance if it's just a configuration issue.

Other than that the router running great!

I cannot access the Webui, use the Telnet and SSH.

The wifi is slow down from 866MB to 7.2 or 6MB.

Lan IP is 169.254.xxx.xxx

Manual IP needed more 5 mins. It could access Webui but not stable.

Router ModelAsus RT-AC68U
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r44112 std (08/09/20)
Kernel VersionLinux 4.4.232 #796 SMP Sun Aug 9 13:11:33 +04 2020 armv7l

I reset to default settling. Import the config file to restore, it does not work. I need to re-setup all of the config setup with nvram command. The router is to resume to normal now.

Run network troubleshooter in Windows to get your client IP to be assigned. I've noticed that it seems that Windows seems to be more problematic than any other OS client these days. Does RT-AC56U even support 160MHz width channels? Seems like your client wireless adapter is mis-configured.

Upgrade the r44112
or
Using the old nvrambak for recovery, wl1 was supporting 160Hz.

However, I just set 80Hz.

After the reset to default, due to my lazy, I had prepared the nvram command for setup. wl1 (5.8G Wifi) did not show in the settling.

@M: I have no idea why you did a reset; I also have no idea why you used a (probably older) nvram backup to restore settings. Try flashing back to the version your nvram backup came from, restore, and upgrade without resetting. Or configure from defaults without using the backup after upgrading. You're making problems for yourself.

Actually, I have tried two times when I restore the nvrambak.bin "I make sure the config file which worked the old build before.".

Due to test for finding the problem, it is my problem or firmware. I prepared all of commend about nvram and different build nvrambak.bin for restore. The result is listed below:

The old version rebuild config of (13-03-2020), (25-06-2020), (09-07-2020), (15-07-2020), (23-07-2020), (17-02-2018) and (29-12-2017) are not compatible the recently before.

Major Bug of (17-02-2018) and (29-12-2017)
1. wl0.1 had not had the mac address. No AP can find with any device.
2. wl1 item show 160Hz
The nvrambak.bin file also affects into r44112 when upgrade or restore but wl0.1 mac address is resumed.
Minor Bug of (17-02-2018) and (29-12-2017)
Radio Scheduling was malfunction.

Major Bug of (13-03-2020),
1. wl1 item show 160Hz
2. Network Adapter showed the ip address 169.254.xxx.xxx
It also affects into r44112 when upgrade or restore.
Major Bug of (25-06-2020), (09-07-2020), (15-07-2020) and
The nvrambak.bin files also affects into r44112 when upgrade or restore

(23-07-2020) Build
1. The apply settling cause the router reboot (Headache). The process needed around 3 minutes to 5 minutes.

Major Bug of (23-07-2020)
1.Network Adapter showed the ip address 169.254.xxx.xxx
It also affects into r44112 when upgrade or restore.
2. The AP could be found but it could be connected.

In r44112, Wireless can be connected when using (23-07-2020). However, Wireless Card and Network Adapter have showed the ip address 169.254.xxx.xxx. It needs to input the ip address manually. The speed of Wireless Card has showed very low speed. After that, Major bugs are the same with old build nvrambak.bin.

In r36168 build will cause the router brick with reboot looping. It needs the TFTP recovery. I did not test yesterday due to no config files.

Due to that problems, I also review the nvrambak.bin files with wordpad. I decided to use the command last week. I think that it can discover the problem.

The result show that the nvram command can fix the majority of issues. It proves the old build nvrambak.bin files may not be compatible the recent build.

You don't use old nvram backups on new builds, an any new nvram variables are dynamic by design AFAIK. You're shooting yourself in the foot.

it has been like that on x2 of my windows machines for ages, even worst, sometimes i cannot get an IP unless i unblock the outbound...that really sucks...
I had a believe, i have something malicious, than investigated deeply, never found anything...so, almost every time i have to manually assign IP to work without unblocking outbound...
The funny bit, im running Windows 7 ultimate and W10 pro 'pentagon policies' i guess i/they did something funny, that i cannot undo Razz, but i can live with that...yep it sucks...all my other OS no problem with it..
