Hello all,
I am new to DD-WRT.

I have a linksys WRT54G router with version 5 and latest firmware. I would like to know which DDRT image should i burn and where to download it.

I would also like to know that if the firmware upgrade is not successful, can i update it back to its original linksys firmware ?

Thanks in advance

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices

WRT54G v5.xxx micro builds only
and you need i think VXWorks killer

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrt54g#Hardware_revisions

dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin
http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/release%20candidates/DD-WRT%20v24%20RC4/GENERIC%20BROADCOM%20(Linksys,%20Asus%20etc.)/dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin

And you can find the firmware of linksys on their own page

Is there any detailed steps provided as a tutorial for flashing the dd-wrt firmware on WRT54G v5 router ?

If flashing the firmware is unsuccessful, is there any way to revert back ?

Thanks

If you totally mees it up, only JTAG will get it back, if you get a backup of it, would you send me a copy "The original that is, Don't have an original G v5 BSP for my collection, and also need one for the CFEE_Updater.

here is the tutorial for flashing G,GS,(v5,v6) follow these instructions exactly, and use the cfe build tool to keep your mac address, and everything should go fine.

http://scorpiontek.org/portal/content/view/27/36/

I've done a couple, and have had no problems other than just using vworks killer and then having to go back and input the mac address in nvram manually.
Hope sthis helps.

Just send me a wholeflash, I will cut the BSP (320k) out myself, other wise....

you would do it like this:

wrt54g -backup:custom /window:1fc00000 /start:1fc00000 /length:00050000 /noemw

that will produce a file called custom.bin, you could rename to Gv5.bsp and send to me, then I will know what it is :)
