Downloads: (DD-WRT website) HTTPS & FTP (try another if a link doesn't work)

CLI Flash: 'cd /tmp' then 'wget {file URL}' (or 'curl -k {file URL} -o {file}') with http (not https) or ftp. Then 'write {file} linux'.

Repository: Trac SVN changelog since last build r43904 (GitHub mirror)

Notes:
r41664 or later for SFE NAT (k3.2+), KRACK (k24+), PBR+SFE, CAKE & FQ_CODEL_FAST (reset!), GTK Rekey timer fixes.
• Reset button was broken at 40571, then fixed in build r40750.
Experimental build option for Broadcom 8MB+ K2.x devices (limited currently): broadcom_K3X_mipsel32r1
• CVE-2019-14899 VPN fix (applicability depends on VPN setup) and GUI toggle. 6920, 6928, 6931, 6932 (WIP 7040)
In-kernel Samba has been implemented this year and default min/max versions have changed 6954, 6957, with WSD support.
• Broadcom MIPS devices are now on kernel 4.4. N66U/AC66U half memory is fully resolved.
• Local DNS option removed from Services->DNSMasq in changesets 43080 and 43081; ref: #7092
• DHCP and DNS help (English) updated in 43083; ref: #7091
• WAN lease time approaching zero bug on WRT54* devices fixed in 43191; ref: #6456
• Images for WNR3500Lv2 (BRCM NAND flash crash bug) fixed in 43219 (43217); ref: #7098
WireGuard 1.0.20200712: PBR, Kill Switch, Inbound Firewall, Naming of Peers, Status, Key, Guides. Thanks egc!

Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in the GUI but v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. 6246
WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) & bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work in some configurations in certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Use client or repeater instead.
VAPs not working at boot fixed for unbridged VAPs with r40564:40566. Workaround startup command:
sleep 10;stopservice nas;stopservice wlconf;startservice wlconf;startservice nas (there are a few alternatives, search).
If start-up scripts do not work from USB add a delay (e.g. wait script or 'sleep 25').
For Broadcom ARM devices missing 5GHz channels, via telnet/ssh: 'nvram set brcm_unlock=1' 'nvram commit' 'nvram reboot'

Important:
• If reporting issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog/serial output, strace etc.
• For firewall issues provide 'iptables -L', 'iptables -t nat -L' and the /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search existing SVN tickets before opening a new one. Before reporting, reset and manually setup (no nvram backup).
• Be sure to include operating and wireless modes (Gateway, AP, CB, etc.) along with relevant configuration information.

Router: Asus RT-AC68U - B1
File Flashed: asus_rt-ac68u-firmware.trx
Firmware: 07/31/20 -r44044
Previous: 07/23/20 -r43904
Reset: No
Mode: AP/Gateway
Errors: Yes, Bootloop!
Uptime: N/A

I did a GUI upgrade from 43904 to 44044, and when it rebooted, did not come back. Unfortunately I have no way to capture serial logs, so I will recover this and attempt to re-flash from the CFE webserver. I will post back with the results.

**Update 1
Reset to defaults and flashed from CFE-web. Still no go. Had a constant ping to 192.168.1.1 going. I get 3 initial ttl=100 pings, then goes dark. Normally, it would start responding with ttl=64 pings after the interfaces are initialized. This is where it reboots.

**Update 2
Flashed Asus 20640 and it booted up. I had remembered that I overclocked these to 1000mhz in the CFE, so I put this one back to the stock speed of 800mhz. Wrote the changes then rebooted. It appeared to make no difference. Oh well... going to attempt to re-flash 43904 to see if it works.

***Update 3
re-flashed r43904 from CFE web and it booted. Reconfigured as AP/Client and all is back to normal (for now) hahaha!

Many thanks to BS and those who run this forum for all the hard work you all put in!

There was an Unbound update. So far I've noticed when unbound restarts it now prints stats to the system log. You can view them when you want by running the following in command line
Code:
unbound-control stats_noreset

if you add the following to your unbound.conf
Code:
extended-statistics: yes
log-time-ascii: yes
log-tag-queryreply: yes
log-servfail: yes
control-enable: yes
control-use-cert: no

Status: Working. Have about 30 clients on it.

Just for reference I had issues updating all my routers using Chrome and the new Microsoft Edge. I was able to upgrade using Firefox. I know the UI has issues with Chromium Based browsers but this is the first time I've ever experienced it. Other than that the routers are running great.

I also want to say thanks to @egc for great work on the documentation for WireGuard. It was easy to get up and running.

As always thanks for great work BrainSlayer.

Edit

I noticed that UI is crashing. In my case when I try to add a bridge it crashes. I was trying to setup coova chilli as well and it crashed.

The error message is from my Netgear r6300v2 but it's happening on all my routers (WNDR3700v1 X2 and EA8500). I tried resetting the r6300v2 but the issue still persists. Will be reverting to the previous build to confirm.

I've attached the output of dmesg, logs,ps,top, free commands.

Just for reference this happened when I was using Firefox and other Chromium based browsers.

Edit
All good with build 43904. Sticking with it for now.

Router: D-LINK 880L
File Flashed: dir880-webflash.bin
Firmware: 07/31/20 -r44044
Previous: 07/23/20 -r43904
Reset: YES (before flashing, after flashing. then - I've restored settings from backup)
Mode: Gateway (PPPoE WAN)
Errors: No critical ones so far, some minor issues (see below)
Uptime: A couple of hours

There are no major issues, as far as I know but it's still too early to tell something definitive for sure. I'm gonna update this post, if I encounter anything.

The only bug (?) I've noticed so far - is the same as in the previous version (r43904) - the settings for Dnsmasq in Services tab don't stick when I choose to disable it. Next time I reboot or refresh the page - the setting is being reset to "Enabled" again.

It's annoying as I have to remember to disable it again, if I decide to change some other options in that tab, too.

p.s.
Dnsmasq is disabled also in WAN/DHCP settings (Setup->Basic Setup) so that shouldn't have anything to do with the Dnsmasq setting being reset to "Enabled" in Services tab, every time.

p.s.2
the DD-WRT firmware has been flashed through Palemoon web browser. It's forked from some older Mozilla Firefox code base, with many bugfixes and improvements.
Generally - that's the only web browser that I've tried and that has allowed me to flash the firmware on Windows, succesfully (before that - I've also used Chromium-based browsers & the new Mozilla Firefox. The process of upgrading has never finished. It just ran through the countdown and then another couple of minutes before the whole page has timed-out with connection to the router, during flashing)

Dnsmasq is the default dhcp server. There is no way to disable it in mostly default settings / gateway mode. The only way to disable it completely is to disable the dhcp server and put it in router mode (switch, wired AP only).

The problem is that when I choose to "Enable" it in Services - then it overrides my settings for DNS servers and sets 192.168.1.1 (the router itself) as the only DNS server for all the clients that are connecting to the router.

Instead - I'd like my pre-defined DNS addresses that I've set (3, to be exact) to be broadcasted to all the clients. And that's what happens when I choose to "Disable" it in Services tab (and then - Save/Apply my settings)

Is it possible to do so that the router would just stick to broadcasting the pre-defined DNS addresses, instead of setting itself as a DNS server?

So basically I want it to work as a DHCP server, but not as a DNS server.

Not like there aren't any posts on how to configure dnsmasq... I probably need to fix/update the wiki sometime, but it's mostly still valid...
