Backup settings

I read that it is recommended after an upgrade to NOT restore settings but instead clear before update, clear after update and then entering the settings manually
Has anybody found a way to make this efficiently?
I know taking screenshots will not show some of the settings and prevent copy and paste for text entry fields
Appreciate suggestion on how to do this

hmmm..reset is valuable only after update...
what i do, i copy paste settings on a .txt file its easy to rebuild copy/paste afterwards..

The easyddup upgrade utility can save a snapshot of your settings before upgrading and can restore them afterwards.
