Router Model TP-Link WR1043ND V2
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r43904 std (07/23/20)
Kernel Version Linux 3.18.140-d5 #84893 Thu Jul 23 03:56:17 +04 2020 mips
update: CLI
reset: NO/YES
status: Operational 12h+
errors: from time to time, since March, router hangs and no more WiFi interface connectivity, no GUI or internet...have to reboot...nothing in the logs...
tried reset / manually rebuild, checked PSU or capacitors...no clue...it gets heavy use, a lots of open connections, but never had such an issue..will try an old build to find out if it is more stable on it....
static DHCP settings on basic settings do not save... on reboot its empty...no nvram commit...
p.s. just found out when it hangs, if i do /opt/etc/init.d/rc.unslung restart,
this reboots stubby, and there you go back to normal, router is operational...but not for long, as it happens again and again, until i manually reboot...
tried to source the issue no clue in the logs, redesigned stubby to use another DNS servers, but still the same issue router hangs, drops all wi-fi clients and no internet.....no idea why router hang its related to /opt/etc/init.d/rc.unslung restart and then its still unstable until cold boot....
will do more tests and eventually will go back to an old build to test again...fk it takes time, and its so annoying...for now im forced to use my ISP provided router (crap one) as it doesn't hang...
i hope its nothing related with SmartDNS crap the was introduced not long ago.... _________________ Atheros

Kernel: Linux 3.18.140-d5 #84883 Thu Jul 23 03:45:46 +04 2020 mips
Mode: one in "AP", the other "Client Bridge (Routed)"
Previous: r43886
Reset?: No
Status: WPA3-PSK 2.4 GHz Wireless Bridge won't connect, 5.0 GHz showed connection but unable to connect to remote devices. Dropped back to 43886 on both devices and issue was resolved.
Status: working fine BUT failed to connect from host when i attempted to change its default (192.168.1.1) network address, no matter what I tried. (I don't use default IP address scheme for greater control of configuration in my VLAN settings and OpenVPN server).
Workaround: Backed down to v3.0-r43334 first, changed router default IP network to desired scheme then upgrade firmware r43904.
Incidentally, this hiccup also happens in r43886 (07-21-2020).
To BrainSlayer and those involved in updating and maintaining DD-WRT, thank you.

Status: Main router
Reset: No
Errors:YES
1. Multicast filter gets flipped on
2. After a short time (5-15 minutes), IPv6 routes don't work. The route is listed (ip -6 route), but traffic is gone. No amount of route advertising seems to work. It's almost like it's not in promiscuous mode anymore.
3. Spontaneous reboot after being up only two days.
Rolling back to 43516 which seemed more solid — at least it didn't have the IPv6 problem.
Siege, I just saw your post. I think I will hold off on my IPv6 saga until the next release. I hope you saw I did make some progress, thanks to your help. _________________ Netgear R9000

And if you saw the posts in the Broadcom thread, you would know you have to manually enter the DHCP start address. Not sure if any commits since this release will change that requirement yet or not, but. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

thanks, I finally figured it out and now running current build . I even broke out the surplus r6700 & DIR862-A1 to confirm it was doing it on those as well.
