Hi.

Remember, google could be your best friend:

Code:
google tl-wr941nd serial

Just check for your own version: 1/2/3/4/576 existing version for correct process.

1st hit as result.

PS. To mod's. Topic should be move to atheros WiSOC. Unless OP tells its a v6.

https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr941nd

And the v6 is "Atheros", Qualcomm is Atheros. Also, if you look at the yellow of the LAN ports housing, it says v5.1 Wink Cool

JP1 is the serial header, pins need to be installed or you need to figure out how to jam the wires in the holes to make connection. That setup looks similar to the v6 serial header picture on the OpenWRT TOH.

You probably just fried your router. You do not use a serial RS-232 cable, the shifting voltage is 12v on a PC com port, not 3.3v; you need a USB-UART-TTL adapter cable. There is also the possibility that there are spots where there are missing components where the solder pads need to be bridged somehow or you have to manually short them to make connection. Also, you do *not* connect Vcc; TX, RX, GND only.
