Hello,

I am running 07-03-2020-r43652 on a Netgear r8000

I am trying to setup as a client bridge using one of two 5ghz radios. As far as I can tell the bridge itself seems to be working okay on wl2 (I couldn't get it to work on the other 5ghz radio).

The problem I am experiencing is that the actual network connection itself appears to be hit and miss. If I for example SSH into the router and

ping 8.8.8.8

Over the course of a few minutes I get a 91% packet loss. (20 out of 228)

The same is true if I try to ping the parent router (192.168.1.1)..

The IP of the child/client router is 192.168.1.11

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I followed the Wiki page for Client Bridge and when I look at the Wireless status page I can see two clients connected (my laptop on WL1, and the client bridge on WL2)

Thoughts?

First, check the signal strenght and packet loss of the link between the repeater/bridge and your main router. If it's very high, try changing channels, power settings, antenna/equipment placement, etc.

WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) and bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work in some configurations in certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Use client or repeater instead.
