I would run an iperf between two computers (one on lan {runs iperf3 as server} and one on wifi {runs iperf3 as a client}) and see what kind of mbps you see transferred between the two.
Use this command from the client to the server:
iperf3 -c X.X.X.X -b 1000M -u -P 4
x.x.x.x is the IP back to the lan computer.
That will do 4 simultaneous UDP ("-u" above) streams of traffic to the server side and you will see the real throughput of the wifi on 2.4ghz. Without this data, I can't help you more to tell you if you have an issue or need a tissue.
I also assume you are not doing torrents, if you are doing torrents- read up on the forums how to tweak the tcp settings and choose the best TCP Congestion Control method. _________________ FORUM RULES
Using my physical Dell desktop running Ubuntu eth wire connected to my client bridge. It's bridged to the ea8500's wl0 configured as per the guide. I get 140mbps sustained in both directions.
The distance between the client bridge(CB) and the (AP)EA8500 is ~30 ft. LoS. However the CB is on the 2nd story of the house above the ea8500 on the main floor.The main floor has a high ceiling and the second floor is a total of 22 steps up.
However while the issue is impacting the network reports show a maximum of ~2-3mbps download while upload remains at 140mbps. Also when the issue occurs all clients connected on the wl0 radio are impacted the same. A reboot restores normal operation.

Just reporting back.
So I've been running the router for about a week now in the main network and for the first few days, the speed tests was good for both 2.4 and 5 GHz networks. Last Saturday, the 2.4 GHz network started slowing down to 3-4 Mbps so I decided to turn off Airtime Fairness. With that, my WiFi reset (but router system did not reset which is expected) and thus, my internet speeds were back to normal.
Now, 2 days afterwards, Monday, it appears that the 2.4 GHz network is slow again (5 GHz network is perfectly fine). But because Airtime Fairness is off, I wonder if maybe the real issue could be the WLAN chips are in bad shape? This issue has been persisting for quite some time, I did a nvram erase and all that stuff and flashing new builds and it seems like the issue never goes away. I thought that maybe it was Airtime Fairness but because the WiFi resets when you make certain wireless setting changes, it's hard to say for sure. Now I'm not sure what could be causing the slowdown for 2.4 GHz but it feels like it may be a hardware issue? what do you guys think?

Without running iperf3 testing, the right way, there isn't a way to tell what is going on. People need to run the iperf tests to prove that it's a real issue between router and client and not something else which is coming into play. When the router/client are exhibiting slowness, run an iperf test between router and wifi, and then a lan and wifi device (through the router) and report the results. I try not to rely on the Wifi Sweetspots results too much though it is handy if you want to quickly check. I noticed that the results shown on Wifi Sweetspots are way off when comparing it to the bandwidth monitoring on the DD-WRT web gui

My wife has a moto g5+ and F.I.L. has a G7 both of which regrettably use a 1x1:1 stream wifi chip inside...Moto and their budget line of "G" devices all use the same shit 1x1:1 wifi... regretably there's nothing you can do but upgrade to a "better" phone. iperf3: error –unable to connect to server: connection refused
if I do the simple command (below) works as expected. I would like to try it with the four streams as you say but no luck with that command as is, then again could be my eyes. What do you think?

from my main router to iperf3 server on oldass laptop that only does 2.4 and best connects is 150

Hello everyone,
I'm new to dd-wr0 and to the forum. I saw this post because I have the exact same issues happening on my EA8500. My Wifi (5GHz) slows down to ~5 Mbps after 3-5 days. I have to restart the router. But after the 3-5 days it goes back to ~5 Mbps again.
I noticed it happening after I switched to BS. I've tried multiple builds. I'm currently on DD-WRT v3.0-r44432 std. I used to have Kong and did not notice this issue, but I could not pass 120 Mbps on my Wifi using Kong builds.
I hope I provided enough information to help troubleshoot or fix the issue in future builds.
