[WARNING]: This thread is only for feedback on this beta release for developers and the community's benefit.
DO NOT flash this beta release unless you understand the risks involved and specific device recovery methods.
Avoid discussions! Create threads for questions, general problems or use search; this thread is not for support.
Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.

Downloads: (DD-WRT website) HTTPS & FTP (try another if a link doesn't work)

CLI Flash: 'cd /tmp' then 'wget {file URL}' (or 'curl -k {file URL} -o {file}') with http (not https) or ftp. Then 'write {file} linux'.

Repository: Trac SVN changelog since last build r43420 (GitHub mirror)

Notes:
r41664 or later for SFE NAT (k3.2+), KRACK (k24+), PBR+SFE, CAKE & FQ_CODEL_FAST (reset!), GTK Rekey timer fixes.
• Reset button was broken at 40571, then fixed in build r40750.
Experimental build option for Broadcom 8MB+ K2.x devices (limited currently): broadcom_K3X_mipsel32r1
• CVE-2019-14899 VPN fix (applicability depends on VPN setup) and GUI toggle. 6920, 6928, 6931, 6932 (WIP 7040)
In-kernel Samba has been implemented this year and default min/max versions have changed 6954, 6957, with WSD support.
• Broadcom MIPS devices are now on kernel 4.4. N66U/AC66U half memory is fully resolved.
• Local DNS option removed from Services->DNSMasq in changesets 43080 and 43081; ref: #7092
• DHCP and DNS help (English) updated in 43083; ref: #7091
• WAN lease time approaching zero bug on WRT54* devices fixed in 43191; ref: #6456
• Images for WNR3500Lv2 (BRCM NAND flash crash bug) fixed in 43219 (43217); ref: #7098
WireGuard: Policy Based Routing, Kill Switch, Inbound Firewall, Naming of Peers, Status, Key, Guides. Thanks egc!

Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in the GUI but v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. 6246
WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) and bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work in some configurations in certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Use client or repeater instead.
VAPs not working at boot fixed for unbridged VAPs with r40564:40566. Workaround startup command:
sleep 10;stopservice nas;stopservice wlconf;startservice wlconf;startservice nas (there are a few alternatives, search).
If start-up scripts do not work from USB add a delay (e.g. wait script or 'sleep 25').

Important:
• If reporting issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog/serial output, strace etc.
• For firewall issues provide 'iptables -L', 'iptables -t nat -L' and the /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search existing SVN tickets before opening a new one. Before reporting, reset and manually setup (no nvram backup).
• Be sure to include operating and wireless modes (Gateway, AP, CB, etc.) along with relevant configuration information.

Router Model / Version: Netgear R7000P
File: netgear-r7000p-webflash.bin
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r43443 std (06/17/20)
Kernel: Linux 4.4.227 #369 SMP Wed Jun 17 14:54:53 +04 2020 armv7l
Previous: DD-WRT v3.0-r40270M kongac (07/11/19)
Reset: No
Mode: Client on 2.4GHz, AP on 5GHz
Uptime: ~1 hr
Status: OK
Issues / Errors: Ok, so for the 5GHz radio wireless channel situation on this particular device, for VHT80 channel width, USA regulatory domain, each of the extension channel selections (LL, LU, UL, UU) give two choices (besides Auto) each - one in the lower spectrum, one in the higher spectrum, NONE in the DFS range. I didn't look at 20MHz or 40MHz width. Comparison with my R7000 on FT with a 2017 SDK6 wireless driver, it's pretty much the same thing save and except it's only upper or lower extension selection. For those who are claiming an issue, it's due to the changes in regulatory domains in this firmware to get rid of all of the "invalid" (read: "illegal") channels. P.S. I used FF ESR on Win10 to flash this upgrade.

You didn't do a reset. USA domain gives 1 choice. If you leave it on auto it will grab a 20 width channel even if you have 80 width selected

If you nvram erase you will need an extra reboot to even be able to pick a channel. GUI reset you can pick the only channel available.

The amount of grief you give people and you didnt even clean install it.

Auto doesn't work on 2.4 either. It will sometimes grab a 40 width channel. 40 width channels don't work properly on 2.4 on the r7000p.

You don't have to do a reset. You don't understand how the webUI works with the embedded configuration files. For example, on opening the basic wireless page, the old default of 2000 ack timing had changed to 500 on upgrade. I changed it back to the old default of 2000. And all of the old channel selection settings went bye-bye. Do you remember when CAKE first appeared in the firmware? Yeah, I didn't do any resets and it was there after "Save" or refresh of the page. I flashed and reported this build as a courtesy and was going to ping the developer about it. Your attacking me was uncalled for.

I have a feeling this is the 802.11 requirement of "playing fair" when other AP's are in radius of your AP and stopping/preventing HT40 mode. This is a hard baked in rule within the chipset driver/firmware and not on the dd-wrt side. BS made some "overrides" for some routers, but not likely for all. I have a feeling this is the case for the R7000p. Go blame the makers of 802.11 and not DD-WRT...

Despite all efforts to make auto channel work in recent months- I am, still, a firm believer that you should manually choose a channel on either radio.

HT40 on 2.4ghz will never play nice on a tablet or smartphone so it's a total waste IMHO, unless you can make your client work on it- laptops mostly and some very rare android devices from China running 3rd party android ROM's on them- forget about iOS devices...

I forwarded the "issue" to BrainSlayer via email. I don't know if he has any of the affected devices on hand to test or not. I do not expect different results on the virgin R7000P currently on my workbench. This is where my participation in this discussion ends unless new information or patches to fix the "issue" are committed.
