Hello everybody,
I am trying to connect to a public wifi in a hotel with my DDWRT in client mode. The hotel net is 192.168.111.0. It is not encrypted. My aim is to have my own net while DDWRT is doing the NAT. I changed the mode of the wireless adapter to client and the SSID is correct. The DDWRT is getting its IP automatically and is acting as DHCP server for my private net. My private net is 10.168.178.0/24. The DDWRT is getting a WAN IP, e.g. 192.168.111.60. My PC is getting an IP like 10.168.178.101. Firefox recognizes that there is a captive portal and tries to load the webpage but fails. Connecting directly to the public wifi via phone works perfectly. Pinging the public router fails.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your help.
Peter
P.S.: I saw multiple posts on this topic but nothing could help me.
I have read this thread already. Even if I connect my phone directly and login, and clone the MAC, it doesn't work. I used the phone MAC as WAN and Wifi MAC simultaneously and separate. Nothing has worked.
