Hello,
I have set up my old R6300v1 to act as an AP/switch as per
https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Access_Point
I have enabled "Assign WAN Port to Switch" option, but when connecting to the main router via this port iperf tops out at around 550 Mb/s whereas the LAN ports reach expected 920 to 950 Mb/s.
I saw notes about the device not supporting accelerated NAT but I was under the impression that this only affects router operation and not AP/switch (as there is no NAT). I am on build 40559. Is this expected for the WAN port to deliver lower performance than the LAN ports? Thanks!

Please consider upgrading. I don't expect it to fix your issue, but 40559 is junk.

Welcome to the forum.

40599 is a really crappy build.

Please read the forum guide lines, see the link in my signature at the bottom of this post.

The WAN port is not part of the switch fabric.
Do not use it if you want gigabit speed.

Thank you for the quick responses! Apologies for not RTFM. I am a bit confused though: the first paragraph in the new build threads says:
DO NOT flash this beta release unless you understand the risks involved and specific device recovery methods.
I don't mind figuring how to unbrick the routers if things go south, but it does send a bit of a mixed message to beginners like myself. So to confirm: is the correct procedure to check the new build thread for reports of breakage, and use the build if none are found?

I have installed r43381 today, resetting the router before and after the update. Smoke test has passed, thank you for the advice!
