I've been seeing this repeat in my logs

Code:

dhcpfwd : maybe died, we need to re-exec it

dhcpfwd : dhcp forwarder daemon successfully started

Full logs from boot: https://paste.kodi.tv/aceqivetut

Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r43028 giga (04/29/20
Router Model: Asus RT-AC66U

This is acting as a wireless access point with PfSense handling the actual routing upstream.

WAN is disabled with the gateway pointing to PfSense (192.168.1.1) and DHCP forwarder set to the same address.

Under "Advanced Routing" we're set to "Router" in operating mode.

DNSMasq is disabled

WAN port is assigned to switch

DHCP should be disabled in this setup.

There is hardly any place for DHCP forwarding in home routing setup.

Do you mean to disable DHCP in pfsense? If so, how do my devices get assigned an IP?

I don't see an option to outright disable it within DD-WRT, I only have DHCP Server or DHCP forwarder under "Setup".

If I disable DHCP forwarder, what is the appropriate setup for using my DD-WRT router as an access point and my routing being handled upstream on different hardware?

I switched from "DHCP Forwarder" to "DHCP Server" and was able to switch it to disabled from there. I'll post here again if the error persists, thanks!

There resources together with your advice made it click:
