I knew that this version likely was missing IPv6 for the WAN, and expected to move on to broadcom Nokaid generic r43266 to obtain that feature - per the link below:
https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Version_Features
Unfortunately, Nokaid seems to be roughly 200KB too large for me to push onto this device. I tested Nokaid special generic, and standard generic from the same release but did not see the IPv6 tab under Setup.
I went back to broadcom mini generic r43266 and was able to get everything I needed with the exception of IPv6. Surprisingly, there is a tab to configure this, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
Is this the right place for a feature request? If so, it would be to reduce the size of Broadcom Nokaid generic enough to fit onto a WRT54GL v1.1 in a future release.
Are there other options for me to get to the same outcome?
It seems that Nokaid generic used to fit onto this device, but has been creeping up in size over the last few months of releases - pushing it over the limit. Is this correct?
That is a good call and I did try Nokaid special generic. It was under the size threshold and committed to the device successfully. I went to the Setup tab to alter IPv6, but IPv6 was not there. I assumed that special generic removed IPv6 to get 802.1x into the build - that was the best documentation I could find on what the difference was between special and non-special build.
