That CPU is not currently supported by DD-WRT and probably won't be. I could only find information on the V2:

https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru/Technicolor_TG788vn_v2

If it's not listed in the database or on the supported devices wiki or in the download folders on the server, it's not currently supported. Friendly advice is to buy a router that IS supported.

Welcome to the forum.

Here are the forum guidelines which should get you started:
https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=324087

It will tell you were you can find the supported device database, if it is not there it probably is not supported

I can't imagine that your ISP would be happy with you flashing their equipment with nonstandard firmware. Certainly here I'd expect an ISP would make a subscriber who did that then buy their hardware from them at some inflated retail price.

Another human moment. I left out that modem/router combos are and will never be supported outside of the one or few that are officially or unofficially supported - which are so ancient, I do not see why anyone would bother.

I have a Technicolor TG589vac v2 too, it's now surplus to requirement as it was used by my last ISP. It's currently not supported by dd-wrt.

I would like to attempt to get dd-wrt working on it as a learning excercise. I know that the VDSL modem will probably never be supported, that's fine. There is a WAN port to use with existing modems.

The info I have so far:

* It's been rooted:
** Using an engineer jailshell login
** modifying the nvram to run nc outwards on pressing WPS button
** SSH back into the router
** Clear provider's software checker
** Unlock root.

I shall start a new thread to see if there's any interest out there, rather than hijacking this one.

Without the actual firmware source code from the stock firmware or an official stock firmware image to binwalk, all I can say is GOOD LUCK. You are trying to reverse engineer something without anything of value to use to do so, IMHO.

Thanks for the "good luck", your pessimism inspires me.

I guess without me clarifying what I've done so far, then it's easy to make assumptions about what I'm trying to do and the tools I'm willing to use to do it.

The process will be open to some support once I've posted my findings on a new thread.

The firmware is based on open-wrt, I've recovered all the flash images and bootloader, so it's all uphill from here Wink

I wasn't being pessimistic, thanks. DD-WRT is not OpenWRT. Start digging, have fun.
