I'm trying to deploy ~11 Polycom VVX 410 phones inside our network with VoIP service from voip.ms. Internal test calls between the extensions randomly don't connect at all or rings the destination phone very late, to the point of already going to voicemail. Voip.ms recommended turning off the SPI firewall (seems like a bad idea), using separate SIP/RTP ports on each phone, and port forwarding the SIP/RTP ports to each phone. Already hackers are causing phones to ring all the time.

I tried using the SIP proxy option, but the milkfish site has gone away. The phones refused to register using it as a proxy. I found the openser.cfg file, but it seems to translate the return address to the router LAN IP. Is there any hope of having the SIP proxy working again? Or is siproxd the recommended substitute at this point? Is there another option (maybe asterisk on the router)?
