Hi!

I will soon in the near future have 1GB/s Internet. So I will have to upgrade my switches. While looking into this some question came to mind.

Why managed switch? Why not?

The question is:

Will a managed switch, in any way, interfere with a dd-wrt router?

managed switch has an interface (GUI)... also usually has some extras like QoS (bandwidth limit), VLAN support or even DHCP upgrading just a switch it wont make a difference but some are better than others, i would ve get managed switch just course i like more options...well for 1Gbit it must support a 1Gbit ports
...no bad idea to update to a newer firmware R7800...
with R7800 you will see closer to gig speed... in a good wind...

Unless your current switches are antique 10/100 fast ethernet, why would you need to upgrade save and except for the functionality of managed switches?
