Well, Unless something magical happens, the end of the road for BCM routers is 802.11 AC, No AX series routers will come...

AX will only come for qca chipset. broadcom doesn't provide an opensource sdk. All is full of binary blob. So, I wasn't able to get the kernel working yet since fundamental.

This means don't ask for AX support on broadcom. SORRY!

He's working on a RAX120...so keep an eye on Atheros...

How is RMerlin Porting AX routers to AsusWRT-Merlin, then? His firmware is Tomato-based/Broadcom-only Wink Twisted Evil Cool

RMerlin's firmware is AsusWRT based, last I knew at least. Smile It's just "upgraded OEM" firmware.

Both AsusWRT and Tomato don't stray much on the kernel, thus they can still use the binary drivers.

AsusWRT stock firmware is Tomato-based, for all intents and purposes. The AX routers are using a 4.1 kernel, not 2.6.x. I just don't think that the ax branches are backwards-compatible to update Tomato Confused Wink

EDIT: I should've included the "rhetorical" disclaimer in my earlier post. Laughing Razz Cool Twisted Evil
