So hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction for successfully installing DD-WRT on WRT1900ACv1.
I followed jsebean instructions posted on the above link to install DD-WRT on WRT1900ACv1.
Now once factory-to-ddwrt.bin has been installed on the router and it has rebooted what should I expect ?
Should I see a new DD-WRT interface ?
Currently it's still the same LinkSys GUI that I see on my router.
Also I am unable to ssh to my router : ssh: connect to host 192.168.2.1 port 21: Connection refused
Why ? What settings could be missing on the router ?
If you are trying to install or upgrade with Chrome or a Chromium-based browser I highly recommend you use a browser based on, or forked from, Firefox instead. If you don't want to install, use a portable version.

It's locked because it's a how-to, not a one-stop-shop helpdesk. All of the useful feedback had long since been given to improve any shortcomings or provide information for other users. Did you read the entire thread? Did you even bother reading the stickies at the top of the forum?

Using my spare 1900 V1.
Separate Adaptor WIN10 New Edge(Chrome based)
No WAN hookup to router.
I restored to Linksys 1.1.10.187766 Partition 1
Firmware upgrade
Factory to DD-WRT r43078
Closed Browser re-opened on 192.168.1.1
Entered new user and password
closed browser re-opened 0n 192.168.1.1
All well and no problems with upgrade to DD-WRT
Switched Boot partition and rebooted router.
Closed Browser and re-opened 192.168.1.1
Linksys GUI up without problem.
I don't believe it would be any different with any of the most recent builds. _________________ Starlink & DSL -> TPLink TL-R470T+

However, when I installed with Chrome the router did say it had successfully installed.
My original question still remains, ref :

Yes. Unless something went horribly wrong, you should reboot into DD-WRT. I wasn't going to blatantly repeat what @blkt was suggesting, which is don't use the router database.
