I was trying to upgrade to the latest 42803( mar 2020) from a 2017 build and now the router has both 2 and 5ghz are red. I have no web access as 192.168.1.1 does not work.

The big problem is when I go to dd-wrt ssid, it wants a password. Never gave it one and don’t know what it is. I can see my Ethernet cable plugged into port 5 but no go. I have tried 30/30/30 and it doesn’t shake it loose either.

Any help would be appreciated

Found a laptop with Ethernet. Put the cable into port 1. Tried GUI and no connect. Ran diagnostics tool on win10. Tried again and login screen appeared. Thanks for help.

Hi BHill21,

I am having the same issue. I flashed the on it and now I cannot reach it any more. I used it as an acces point with no DHCP. I am not sure if it even had a set ip address, since my router had an dhcp active.

How ever I tried you method. Lan 1 is the one on the left side, right? I gave my computer a set IP 192.168.1.4 and I cannot connect to eigther 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2 (which was the ip the EX6200 was reachable before).

Any other suggestions? If I attach it to my network the EX6200 only works as a network switch, which is also weird...

any help is appreciated.

I guess I didn't see this one before. You don't 30/30/30 this device. Only thing I can suggest is to press and hold the reset button for ~7-10 seconds, release, let it reboot and try again. I'm not going to ask what build you flashed to it.

I used the one one the Router Database:

V3.0 40559. https://dd-wrt.com/support/router-database/?model=EX6200_v1

Reset is not wroking. Or at least not that I can tell. I can press it as long as 2 minutes and nothing is happening. Sad

That @#$%^&*! router database. Still doesn't have the disclaimer yet, I bet. You should only have to press it until the link lights do their thing.

Not sure if you have to TFTP, serial recovery, or nmrpflash those things to recover them.

thanks!!! That did the trick. I used https://github.com/jclehner/nmrpflash and with this command

Code:
nmrpflash -i net0 -f EX6200-V1.0.0.38_1.1.52.chk -vvv
with this FW from Netgear's website: EX6200-V1.0.0.38_1.1.52.chk

I went this route:

- Switch on the router
- Send command
- Switch off the router immediately
- Switch on the router

Took quite so while. In the end it asks you to reboot. Did not see this, so I waited for an hour. Just disconecting the router was enough.

I will reflash it right now.

for anyone searching this thread later on, I recommend using nmrpflash.exe to downgrade to EX6200-V1.0.0.38_1.1.52.chk from the netgear website, the oldest firmware, if you're not still on that version already. From that Netgear web gui interface on 192.168.11.1 or mywifiext.net , you can then flash a version of DDWRT relevant to the EX6200 such as factory-to-dd-wrt-r46446.chk
