I've got a Netgear Nighthawk R9000 purchased from FlashRouters. I've really been disappointed in the way it's worked since I got it... but that's a different story.

I just upgraded to Gigabit internet from my provider, giving me a little over 900Mb down and 35Mb up, and I have proven this by connecting one of my computers directly to the cable modem.

However, once the router is online, my speed nearly cuts in half... again all VPN functions are OFF and QOS is off... and my WiFi speeds are around 300Mb. Previously I had an Apple Airport Extreme which would not only pass the full bandwidth to wired devices, but over AC WiFi I'd approach near full speed, as well.

Is there ANYTHING I should be looking at to help throughput? If DD-WRT gives me less options, then I'm ready to revert back to Netgear's flash and start over.

Thanks for the help!!

What build of dd-wrt are you running?

Is it only wifi that is slow?

Your router does have Atheros hardware and is discussed in the Atheros Forum.

See this wiki on how to configure wifi on Atheros.
