Hello,
I have a fon-subsidized wrt54gs v4 router. It doesn't have to be used with Fon network and I would like to install dd-wrt to optimize my voip connection.
Do I ignore the fon installed firmware and install the dd-wrt directly or is there specific instruction for fon-subsidized wrt54gs v4? I have been searching on the web and in this forum for fon-subsidized wrt54gs v4, but I haven't been able to find any instruction for such routers. I, however, found a lot of info for fonera or regular linksys routers.

Judging from past posters experience with loading dd-wrt over top of other third party firmware I would suggest you load the original linksys firmware back on first....make sure it is working, then hard reset and load dd-wrt.
There have been many instances were things just don't work right or the router is bricked when going from OpenWrt or from Sveasoft directly to dd-wrt.
Just make sure you do a hard reset before and after any firmware loads to reset the router back to defaults properly.

In my experience the easiest and safest way is:
Flash back to linksys firmware
hard reset the router
Flash the MINI dd-wrt firmware
wait a few minutes, check if it's on the router
hard reset the router
Flash the firmware you want to use
check if it's loaded
hard reset the router...
party time... or play-time whatever you like _________________ Firmware: DD-WRT v24 SP1 std

2xWRT54GSv1.0

In need of WRT54GS <= v3 EU/UK for firmware-debugging purposes. Buffalo's are welcome too! PM me if you have a spare one.
