Here is the situation: it perfectly works configured as Repeater Bridge then I'm able to navigate in Internet.
I made the configuration at home a couple of years ago (and this is a big problem as despite notes I have, I'm not sure I'm correctly doing everything needed).
The other problem is the known issue on this machine once dd-wrt is installed: reset button does not work anymore.
I want to install one newer version. And also I could need to change the SSID of my network.
Version should be (from notes) 30356, but when I manually configure eth card to connect to router ip, I'm not able to get into the web page.
Then I tried to flash connecting the router with USB to TTL cable (plus cp2302 chip) I previously used to flash.
Nothing works, am I somewhere wrong? Is any hint I could try before last resort (jtag)?
Thanks in advance
Alex

I presume the lan ports work. If not, does the virtual interface you added when you initially configured it work? I'm trying to sort through all the threads that Google crapped in my lap for this thing since there is no wiki article. Anyhow, generically speaking:
Somewhere in the first two wiki articles, you should find something useful. If you can't access the web interface by wired or wireless, you may have to use auto dhcp for your pc or laptop to connect, even though the normal way is to use static ip with IP address, netmask, and gateway. Not sure how "new" of a build you want, either, but this is the latest public beta release:

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.
Frankly speaking, I tried inly one of the lan ports .... good hint, while speaking about the virtual port If you refer to the port allowing devices to connect, get the ip to then being bridged to modem/router connected to internet, the answer is yes. Otherwise, I need to check my notes about virtual port.
I’ll also try with dhcp, shutting down main router (main router is 192.168.100.1, buffalo is 192.168.200.1).
But, the first thing I would try, after your answer, will be the ttl connection: I connected ONLY tx, rx and ground and NOT vcc as in link you suggested that I read again, what I report here below probably brought me on the wrong way?
In the meanwhile, I bought a new TTL interface as when I was successful accessing to CFE it was Windows 7.
But still no success connecting to the router with the second adapter.
It perfectly works in repeater bridge mode but I'm no more able to get the console: I conect to it and then I reach internet through the main router.
First simple reason would be bad router serial interface, but I have no idea how and when it failed.
I'm trying to scan ports with nmap to figure out some ideas. It recognizes mac address but it shows all 65535 ports as filtered.
Should I be back on TTL interface with a different OS?
Thanks
Alex
I did not, and I did not think about as two years ago I succeded using adapter when I marked pins on the router (I needed new adapter as old one is not w10 supported) and also because I'm not sure I would be able to measure: have you any reference I could read to learn howto?
Thanks again for your suggestions
