Hello, I've bricked my wrt32X.
I tried to update firmware via the serial connector.
I did manage to connect to the router via putty, but didn't manage to send the image file.
I changed my adapters ip to mached what's expected- 192.168.1.254, and the default gateway to 192.168.1.1, connected the wrt32x via cable to said adapter (port 1 in the router).
I keep getting the result:
Venom>> run update_both_images
Using egiga0 device
TFTP from server 192.168.1.254; our IP address is 192.168.1.1
Filename 'venom.img'.
Load address: 0x2000000
Loading: T T T T T T T T T T
Retry count exceeded; starting again
I looked at what wireshark says, it does see an arp request and an answer (which is correct),
Than TFTP request from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 with the correct file name, but no response.
I tried 2 types of TFTP servers, tried pulling from my computer via TFTP client, and it worked.
The image I tried to flash is the stock one from linksys's support section and "flattened" ones from this forum.
I searched the forum and tried all the methods, with no prevail.

make your laptop (pc) the tftp server.
If this is n.n.n.2 than set this also in the setenv of the bricked 32xx
setenv serverip n.n.n.2
make sure your laptop/pc is connected via utp cable to the 32xx LAN port
make sure the default directoy is correctly pointing to the directory where the venom.img is residing. Show Dir should show the file needed.
so if the setenv (check with printenv) is pointing to tht tftp server it should work.
your serial adapter doesn't have a task here. It is only showing the response to your actions and gives you options to enter commandson the bricked 32xx. It will have a COM port not an ip i assume.
